It's a good fat and will help with weight loss. Fat does not make us fat; as long as it is good, healthy fat. Coconut is one of those good fats. It's also the best oil to cook with (use neutral flavor) Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group

Eat fat. Fat does not make us fat. However, it must be healthy fat, grass fed beef, free range (non gmo fed) chicken, eggs, fish (low mercury) avocados, good oils like olive oil and coconut oil (you can use neutral flavor) nuts, seeds, etc. You may want to read the recent article published in NYT, etc.…

Please don't misunderstand. What I am saying is that quality of calories matter.... not that they do not matter at all. Less about quantity, more about quality. I hope that the topic I post will help you to better understand the role sugar plays in weight loss. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group

You will find out for yourself... You will lose ALOT of weight and even more when you reduce your sugar all around! It should be at 10 percent of your calories. World Health said maybe 5 percent!! Sugar is a leading cause of obesity because of the fructose that is in it and how it is metabolized. Today, weight loss is less…

You can reports here on MFP. Run a report on sugar... I know you will find your answer. It Quality; not Quantity these days.

Too much sugar in the diet causes leptin resistance, a hormone that controls appetite. Leptin resistance leads to obesity. That is why we are being warned to keep sugar to a minimum, 10 percent of our calories and the reason why a calorie of one food is NOT the same as a calorie of another. It's the quality of the food we…

First, toning does not happen without muscle. There are certain rules to follow. A certain percentage of weight is used based on what you can do one of. In other words, if you could do one squat with 100 lb, then you should use a certain percentage of that (depending on if you are working on strength or endurance and also…

Somewhere I read about a Macdonalds's hamburger. A grass fed "healthy fat" burger just does not compare to a Maconald's hamburger... I know it is hard for many people to swallow... but, unfortunately, it is the case. A calorie of one food is NOT the same as a calorie of another. Our body needs quality food.

Of course calories matter...We cannot sit down and eat and eat and eat. Most people get that. ... It kind of goes without saying... But it is the QUALITY of calories because a calorie is NOT a calorie any more.

The message everyone must take is weight loss and good nutrition is LESS about quantity and MORE about quality. I'm sure everyone with common sense gets it. It is just a matter of implementing it ... it's difficult because of all the junk that has been snuck into our foods... But we will get there. I am so happy that the…

You're on the right track. Counting calories was once helpful, but actually never really needed back in the day when there was no fake food. Not today though. What are we counting? Fake food does not count. We can still count calories; but it is the QUALITY, not the quantity. Certain foods, although low in calories, will…
