  • Ive been on it since I was in my 20's ... no problem except from time to time I have had to have the dose adjusted
  • Yes; I was a bit confused about it at first too. They do not account for exercise because they don't know if you exercise until after you do it.
  • Check the ingredients... Maltodextrin???? There is a BIG difference between the synthetic and the natural occurring... I would do some research if I were you before I consumed the product Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • Our bodies were made to eat real food; so it makes sense that anything that is not "real" would wreak havoc eventually. To me, real food, clean food, is anything that has not been altered. Of course, that does not mean cooking.
  • GREAT! it is not about the quantity of calories it is about the quality!! If you do this and set your macros correctly, you will have no problem EVER Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity group
  • There is a standard amount of carbs for weight loss.... not more than 100 grams And, of course, those carbs should be fruit and veggies, real food. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity group
  • You may be interested to read what the executive editor from "Harvard Health" has to say about the subject. Fructose is NOT metabolized as glucose is. The proof is in the pudding. Limit fruit to 10 percent of your calories and see what happens. You will not have to wait long. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • There should be no more than 25 grams of fructose. It is the fructose in the sugar that is the problem. I'm happy to see that people are finally catching on to the danger of sugar thanks to a few medical professionals who spearheaded this awareness campaign. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • YES; fructose cannot be eaten in excess. Fruit is glucose and fructose. Some fruits have more fructose than others. Fructose is not metabolized the same as glucose. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • I love Siggi's ... Its real yogurt which CONTAINS live and active cultures. I add a few raisins and a little bit of chopped fruit and 2 or 3 slices of banana... Satisfies that sweet craving without all the extra sugar that studies are showing are so dangerous Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • There is quite a bit of controversy over BMI. Body weight compromises muscle, bone and water, and body fat. B.M.I. alone is not a exact measure of how fat a person may be. When Arnold Schwarzenegger was Mr. Universe, his B.M.I. indicated that he was obese but he was hardly fat. You may want to do some research on the BMI.…

  • The Russian Kettlebell!! It's the only tool proven to burn 1200 calories in a hour.... Here's the science... http://www.acefitness.org/getfit/studies/kettlebells012010.pdf You don't even need a gym! It's a hand held gym, you can workout with it anywhere in very little space. There are millions of moves so you never get…
  • MFP does not go under 1200 calories. They do not believe it is safe. They also do not use TDEE so you have to eat back your calories. TDEE includes exercise. MFP does not include exercise because they do not know that you are exercising until you log it. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity

  • I don't think there is any confusion, but In case there is ,I noted that you stated that you are not athletic and cannot go for long periods of time. I suggested the Russian kettlebell for that very reason. It is CAPABLE of burning 1200 calories in an hour. That does not mean that you have to use it for an hour. (and that…
  • Rather than researching diet coke, it may help to research the ingredients. There are many reliable sites (american journal of medicine, for one ) and then decide if you want to put it in your body. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity
  • The Russian Kettlebell is the only piece of equipment proven to burn 1200 calories in an hour! And it can be used jut about anywhere. You workout with half the amount of time you would with anything else and get twice the results. It is a full body workout. It does not isolate muscles. You don't just look strong; you are…
  • The movie, Fed Up, is getting a HUGE response with the challenge that happened the past 10 days. It will educate more people, who have no clue about the danger of sugar. Now we have to help people wean themselves off from the addiction. Sugar is as addictive as heroine! We are beginning to work on that now. Joanne Moniz…
  • Good job!!! Your sugar is set too high though and therein lies your problem. It should be set at 30 grams for your calorie amount. Fructose in sugar is not metabolized as glucose is and one, if not the main, cause of obesity. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • Fat in the abdominal area is often a sign of too much sugar in the diet. Check and see how many grams of sugar you are consuming. It is hidden all over the place. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity
  • I think most people are respectful but we have to realize that there are 40 m people on this site. There have been many discussions but I think the general consensus is to just ignore those who are not. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • Sounds great! going to try tonight! Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • ps.. all you have to do is reduce it to 10 percent of your calories... pretty much established by the medical community
  • I like this advice. I think most people will tell you this... Sugar, most definitely will make you fat and more than that... It will age you, it will zap your energy, etc. etc. Our bodies were made for food, real food, not stuff in a package. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • Try to use fruit. If you like yogurt, it is a good way to add a little sweetness. You can add a slice of apple diced up and a couple slices of banana. Just try not to eat too much fruit... It will take a little while to wean yourself off sugar; but you will feel great!!! Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
  • No; your macros are not set correctly. There is a RDA, recommended daily allowance for protein and is then adjusted according to your activity level (exercise). You are then left with fat and carbohydrates to set. Carbohydrates are set 50 to 100 grams for weight loss. The fat then sets itself.
  • A calorie of one food is not the same as a calorie of another. It is less about the quantity of the calories and more about the quality of the calories. This will help you understand why. Joanne Moniz The Skinny on Obesity Group
