Was very yummy!

Eek, take care of that ankle & don't try to jog/run, even if your life depended on it! I'm due to have surgery on the 19th of September & have my lower spine fused, not sure what to expect but I'm definitely gonna take it easy while it heals, & in future. Like everyone says, swimming is one of the best things you can do.…

Welcome! I've been here a week but I love it here! When you have friends motivating you daily it becomes less of a chore and you actually want to do better for them as well as yourself! For the past year I've also been losing and gaining that same 10lbs! I just didn't have the drive to keep it off, but no more! I've even…

I've never done a specific diet, but once my mum & I stopped eating carbs after 3pm for a couple months and it really showed! You should have carbs for breakfast to give you energy for the day, then a little less at lunch, and then only carbs from vegetables for dinner. Don't worry about going over your protein on here,…

Welcome :) I've been here a week and I'm obsessed with tracking now too. Strange how you feel guilty after seeing it all laid out in front of you and make more conscious decisions about what to eat. I've quickly learned how to eat in moderation, never thought I'd see the day!

Woohoo first post! :drinker:

What time in the day do you usually work out? Exercise gets your adrenaline going, so if you're working out late afternoon/evening that may be a reason why you can't get any sleep. My cousin was taking CLA and she said it makes her hot and sweat a lot, so maybe the change in your body temperature is another factor in why…

I know what you mean about showing love with food haha! I'm half Anglo-Indian and my family are the worst! Just try to avoid eating carbs after 3pm and say no to all those Indian sweets! Make sure to have a huge supply of bottled water and get your 8 glasses a day. Even if you can't run, try to fit in a 20 minute walk…

Never go to bed hungry! If you skip dinner and then workout your body will go into starvation mode, which you don't want if you're trying to lose weight! Maybe have a light snack an hour before you go that's high in carbs? By the time you get there you won't feel full, and the carbs will start releasing energy to keep you…

Try to avoid processed foods and have your carbs earlier on in the day so you can burn them off, so try to keep dinner to mostly vegetables and meat (unless you're vegetarian!) The most important thing to eat is protein, you can find this in meat, eggs, beans, nuts & seeds etc.…

You look great, well done! You've not only lost weight, but you look like you've dropped years off your age too!
-
I also had the same problem and confusion with eating exercise calories! I found I hadn't lost as much as I'd hoped for when I didn't eat them, so now I'm going to eat back as much exercise calories as possible. Try to eat handfuls of nuts or something to make up calories when you're not feeling hungry enough to eat…

Here's my net calories report for today. I ate back all of my exercise calories, and was even 34 calories over haha! I haven't got the healthiest of diets right now but I'm working on it, especially because I'm due major surgery in 3 months and want to be as healthy as possible. Going to aim to keep my graph at 1200 or…

I've never tried almond milk but I see a lot of people here have it in their food diaries, might give it a shot!
-
Well I've been eating at least 1200 calories a day, except for yesterday when I was just under 1000, but because I'd burned around 300 cals it says I'd only eaten around 600. I've tried to eat back my exercise calories but sometimes I just can't eat anymore! I think I'm going to try to eat 80% of my exercise calories this…

I've got 22 to go, exactly one for each year of my age

Your plateau is completely normal! You've already lost an incredible amount of weight, well done! It's always harder to lose weight the smaller you get and it is frustrating, but you will pull through! How long have you been stuck for? Maybe you could talk to a nutritionist or personal trainer and get some advice?
-
I think there's only so much weight we can lose from just following a certain diet over a certain amount of time, exercise is crucial to weight loss, as much as you may hate it! Try to do some strength training as well as cardio, not only is it good for weight loss, but your body will look amazing and toned too. What…

You look great! And your legs actually appear longer now, keep up the good work!
-
Make sure you've getting enough calories! Sometimes if we eat too little, regardless of how much we exercise, our body goes into starvation mode and actually stores fat instead of shedding it!

Welcome back, I'm a newbie but already see why this is addictive! Feel free to add me :)

I find if I change everything at once (diet, exercise, routine) I either get bored or exhausted. Maybe start again slowly by exercising every other day so you don't run out of steam! Then once you're in a routine you're happy with, you can focus on your food habits, and then gradually exercise more if you want. Good luck!
-
I know the feeling! Start slowly, maybe by watching what you snack on, as I find most of my daily calories come from snacks and drinks! Then you can start one meal at a time and eat healthier for breakfast, then lunch, then dinner. Or maybe try it the other way around and conquer snacking after changing your meals,…

Welcome to MFP :) I've only been on here for 4 days but I love it already! People are great and keep me motivated, everyone can see what I'm eating so I feel bad if I let them down as well as myself! Good luck :)
-
Welcome :) this is my 4th day on here but I love it already, people here are great!

Sometimes your weight will plateau and it can be annoying, but hang in there and it will suddenly just drop off! As long as the scales aren't going up then there's no harm in sticking with this routine for a while. If it doesn't work, you can always switch it up and try eating some of your exercise calories :)

Nice ink ladies! I love tattoos and learning the stories behind them! People tell us they'll look like crap when we're 60, but so will everything else, at least we'll be a cool grandma! If I had enough money I'd be covered in 'em. I don't have the greatest pictures of mine, I'll edit & upload more later. My first tattoo…

Thanks for the replies everyone! I also take my reading from the machine as the treadmill knows my weight/heart rate, and MFP seems to add 50+ cals more than what the machine says. I try to avoid eating my exercise calories as I don't know how accurate these calculations are, I don't want to eat over what I'd burned!

My butt sure needs a lift haha. Would I need to purchase all the DVDs?

Welcome :) I just joined yesterday but everyone is super supportive!
