Week 3 is totally killing me! I am glad to see there is hope though! lol

Thanks so much guys! I think I am going to go with the happy medium. Run indoors all but one day a week. I will probably choose a weekend earlyyyyy in the AM. I will be sure to let y'all know how it goes!

<nodding> yep, the kilt woulda got me too

Yes! I am a full time working mother, when I am home my attention and times gets sucked into the black abyss of family, dinner, laundry etc. I feel like going to the gym is the only thing that allows me uninterrupted, guilt free time to work out.
-
Great! Well that does make me feel better! I hate to ever think I am cheating myself!

The easiest way is to open a Photobucket account and copy over the "image" link to the pic making sure to use only lower case letters. It sounds a lot harder than it is lol
-
Your pics :) (you have to make all the letters in the link lower case for the pics to post)
-
I am bound and determined to accomplish 1.5... :) Slowly lol
-
Now it was a VERY slow mile! LOL I barely finished inside 16 minutes doing 2 min intervals running and then brisk walking. Really compared to everyone else there, I was pathetic but we can't use other people as our rulers I suppose...
-
Thanks, you look FANTASTIC btw!
-
TY so much for this tip! I loveeeeeeee choc milk!!!!

Thanks so much guys, the support here is INVALUABLE. Then I was stupid enough to go to a strength training class this morning! LOL I crawled out of there whimpering! I can't help it, I'm addicted to torture and punishment I think :)
-
Face before and after :) I'm not proud, am I? LOL

well when I was 50 lbs overweight I wouldn't have considered it pathetic either. I was also struggling to finish walking around the block. But since then I have lost that weight and I have been going to the gym every single day for 5 months - just not running. So I guess I stupidly assumed that the other cardio I had been…

TY for your replies everyone... I was talking to a friend the other day who said "Not everyone loves running, not everyone is a runner!" I guess I am just battling with that because more than anything I am afraid of approaching the exercise thing all wrong. It was easier when I was 50 lbs overweight and was doing NO…

I used to go to the gym with a friend but our schedules got all changed around and we can't go anymore. I have been going solo for a while now. All I have to do to get motivated is to look at my before and after pic and I am up like lighting driving to the gym. The results are really my best motivation!

Thanks so much! I agree with you (as a personal choice) not to follow a "plan" so to speak, at least not all hardcore and obsessively bc I do have the kind of personality that can get consumed and entirely obsessed with plans like that. So for now, I am on the treadmill for a full mile doing 2 min at 5mp (this is running…

I know the feeling! I used to be a size 14 and yesterday I had to buy new pants for work (again - I have had to do this several times) but I easily and comfortably fit into a size 6! SIX! There is only 4, 2 and 0 after that!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!
-
Down from: 170 lbs Size 14 to 129 lbs Size 6 I am ten lbs away from goal weight and trying to start running (HARD!)
-
I didn't know there was already a pic thread! I will go post down there, sorry y'all! :)

I too have a dog who would LOVE to be taken outside! LOL At this point I am training for my mile in the gym on a treadmill as I think that as hard as it is for me, I don't need to throw in variables like weather and hills just yet. My plan is to start running outside when I can successfully run a mile on the treadmill.…

Oh no I am not a all offended and I know what you mean. Part of what I tend to do that leads me to giving up is looking TOO far down the line, getting overwhelmed and giving up which is why I am keeping my goals small right now. Yes right now my goal is to be able to a run a mile without worrying someone will call the…

Yes I am on a beginner's program that has me doing intervals. I did 2 min run 2 min walking for a mile today. I did it, it kicked my *kitten* but I did it! I am not new to cardio but I am new to running and it's a lot harder!
-
Girl, you rocking that booty! :)
-
TYTYTY!! I figured it out like JUST after you posted that but damn it took me forever!
-
You look GREAT! It never seems as if the pics show how hard we work, I hate that I feel so much that I need the feedback from others - SIGH
-
I'm 5 feet even and 129 right now. My goal is also 120. I am down from 170lbs and a size 14 to 129 lbs and a size 6.

"Sounds like you have some endurance built up already! I can only last for 30 seconds jogging and then spend 4 1/2 mins walking! I just got back from my walk/run tonight and my knees are hurting! I'm hoping this gets easier and that my legs will get to where they don't hurt while and/or after my run." [/quote] Seriously it…

Hi there :) I am also trying to get into running and eventually into a 5K. Today I started what is basically the C25K only I didn't name it LOL I did 1 mile - 2 min running (jogging really lol) at 5mph and then 2 min walking at 3.5 mph. The last 30 seconds of those 2 min intervals ARE A KILLER!!
-
Thanks Kelly! I am trying really hard not to give up! I am actually using a training schedule very similar to C5K. I know the key here is understanding it's a process and not giving up when I am not running a 10 min mile a week from now. It's so hard though, you know we all want results NOW! LOL
