Speaking for my people.... (that's men, btw), it takes all types to make a world and different men like different types. Big, small, thin, fat, round, sticklike, etc, etc, etc.... Beyond that, there's really not much to say.

I think, long term, that it's not a great idea. But from day to day you can vary it to meet your mood. Just my personal opinion, not based on any facts.

My diet doesn't focus on particular food groups. I just eat less and workout more. As long as I hit my calories and exercise, I am happy. I will still have the occasional meal from Pizza Hut, or a sneaky Big Mac, once in a blue moon, but I really don't look at carbs, fats and proteins too much, though looking back at my…

about 10 seconds and 1 flight of stairs. I have an office in my attic so no commute most days!

Request sent. :o)

I have to agree with the opening post. Since starting with MFP my eyes have been opened to just how much I was scoffing away through, what amounted to, pure greed. I can't believe the calories I was eating just because I wasn't thinking about what I was eating. The mindset has to change before the body can truely adapt and…

You should be proud and you SHOULD celebrate it! Well done!

I've been on Citalopran (Same stuff) for over 6 years and I always attributed my weightgain to that. Have been on between 20 - 40mgs for a long, long time. I WAS FOOLING MYSELF. I am still on 30mgs a day, actually INCREASED my dosage at around the same time I started using MFP and I have lost 30lbs whilst following the MFP…

This feels like good advise to me. I have found that over the last 2-3 weeks I have tended to run net calories for the week of below 1000; this actually appears to have slowed my weightloss. If you look at my diary, you will see that I can still eat 2000+ calories a day, on some days, but due to the high number of calories…

I'm similar, in that my belly is disproportionately fatter than other areas, but I have found that I am seeing most benefit from my weightloss in that area.

Here's the link. Actually rings very true... http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/15/fashion/the-challenge-of-making-friends-as-an-adult.html

I read a very interesting areticle a couple of weeks back which concludes that once you hit you mid-twenties it becomes harder and harder to make new friends, by that they meant real friends, like BFFs. I'll see if I can find the link.

You may well do, in the short term, but my advoice would be to record it all, as you normally would, and get straight back on the plan. Last weekend was my birthday and I also went to a freinds birthday party. I blew my calories BIG TIME on Friday and Sunday, but still managed to do well. Sometimes you need to let go, but…

I have never used "magic bullet" industry products, such as pills. I did have good success on the Slimfast plan a few years back, but it all fell apart once I stopped using the products. This time I am re-educating myself about food; through MFP I have learnt so much and come to understand a lot of the mistakes I have made…

I would have to agree with this.

Holy Moley!!! That's amazing progress. A massive WELL DONE to you!!!!

I don't see that +/- 100 calories is a big deal. Now if you were +/- 1000, then start worrying. You calories are a guidance; you can't realistically hit the numbers smack on every day.

I can only speak from the experience of my wife, which was Run, Run, Run, Run, Run...

I believe this is one of Bob Harper's (Biggest Loser Coach) top tips for weightloss. I try and do this as an extra helper and I've doing well so far, so would not disagree with it. Nice pic BTW, Disneyworld by chance?

You need medical help to resolve you eating disorder.
-
Ah, so classic pear then. I can sympathise; my wife had a similar shape, though through a lot of work she got the bottom half to size 10 in the end. Running was her key to success.

Ah, OK, more info. I guess you're OK on the weightloss requirements front then and you are certainly extremely active. I would have thought 120-125 from your profile pic. I would think you should be aiming form at least 1400 calories a day, NET of exercise. That's a number in the air there, but certainly anything below…

I agree with many here. 1. You're not eating enough and you run the risk of unhealthy weightloss that could do serious long term damage. 2. Looking at your profile image, which admittedly is just one photo, but where do you think you need to loose 20lbs???? My personal opinion is that you appear to be rather slim and I can…

I lost 1.5lbs in 4 hours today and all IO was doing was sitting at my desk... Why? Because it is damn hot and I sweated off that much. Day to day changes can be affected by the same thing.

The "fat burning mode" is only a guideline and the machine can get it wrong, and frequently does in my experience. As far as I am concerned, if you are burning calories, you are making a positive contribution to your wieghtloss. As long as calories in < calories out then you will loose weight. Noite: Calories out does…

Weekly, or at most twice weekly, should be enough. Remember, you weight will fluctuate, in both directions, depending on many factors, including have you just eaten, how hydrated are you at this point, have you been to the toilet this morning, etc, etc.
-
My wieghtloss went thus. Week 1: 10lbs Week 2: 0lbs Week 3: 4lbs Week 4: 2.5lbs Week 5: 3.5lbs It WILL vary. Do not panic.
-
Personally I do not see Atkins as a valid method; I know too many people who have either failed, or piled the wieght back on once they have finished. Sticking to the MFP calculated calories and increasing your levels of activity should give you the results you need. Remember if Calories in < Calories out you WILL loose…

I always shower fully before and after. I'm currently goinmg around 5 times a week, for between 30 & 60 mins a session. In addition the pool I use is part of a Spa, so 10 minutes in the steam room after swimming helps to remove the chemicals.

As long as I log it then I don't really mind. I tend to stick to diet soda now, but if it is alcoholic, then a bottle of Budweiser normally fits the bill.
