  • Zen Labs C25k App - Tells you when to start running and stop. I did the 10k app too and it was amazing! Runkeeper - My favorite app of them all! I even bought the year long subscription to this! I don't know what I would do without Runkeeper. It tracks my runs, gives me my pace and distance...also it compares similar runs…
  • I drink almond and love it! I don't miss cow milk at all. There were a few reasons why I changed to almond milk. - Less Fat - Less Calories - Less Gross (Really, we are the only mammals that continue to drink milk after being weened) - Less Sugar - Less Carbs - Gives everything a little almond flavor Don't go into it…
  • Loose and Lose - Yes, there is a difference. For some reason I'm always annoyed when someone calls it a "Journey". A journey has an end. I don't call it my "journey" it's just my life... When people believe wraps and easy fixes work. People who want to give me weight loss advice even though I've lost over 100 pounds. Beach…
  • Bump for later.... I just finished 10k training, need info on Half Marathon
  • I've been to over 200 concerts in my life. This was a struggle for me too! Food Wise: I use to keep stuff in the car or in my pockets for snacks. Cut your festival portions in half. The serving sizes are crazy (so are the prices) so my husband and I would split meals. Lemonade is your friend. If you find a booth that hand…
  • This exactly! I used Runner's World for my shoes because I live out in the middle of no where. The shoes it advised me to get I got off amazon and I LOVE them! Perfect for what I needed.
  • I told myself that if I lost 100 pounds that I would take professional wedding photos! Looking for the dress now. =)
  • I use to drink it black for the longest time, until the acid started messing with my belly! Now I put a little splash of soy or almond milk.
  • Loose - not firmly or tightly fixed in place; detached or able to be detached. Lose - be deprived of or cease to have or retain (something). Sorry that drives me nuts! And to answer your question, about three days.
  • As a diabetic I keep close track of my carbs. I find that I need some sort of carbs before a workout to fuel it. If I don't, it will make me sick. I think you should do some test runs and see what works best for you!
  • They use the acid in a lot of different things, so I've been reading. Soaps, shampoos, and hand sanitizer are among that list and they do not need to be listed as "citrus".
  • I tried it for the entire month of January. It was really hard to maintain and some of the rules were kind of silly. It's essentially clean eating, I don't know why it needs any other name. A lot of people pick and choose the rules they want to follow, which defeats the entire purpose of being "paleo." I think it's a fad…
  • There is a really awesome charity group called Angel Foods that helps distribute healthy meals for low income families. It's really awesome.
  • Bullying at any level of education is almost a guarantee of dismissal. I would collect all your evidence and bring it to the administration. You can ignore it, take it out in spinning class, beat them up, cuss at them, or binge eat all you want but this is a legal matter. They have no remorse for your feelings, you should…
  • I was the treasurer of the IBTC for many years! I went from a 40D to a 36B in about a year.... I love having smaller bitties!
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the zenlabs app! I love it so much that I went to the 10k app when I completed it. I highly recommend this and I'm currently running 5+ miles a time. It changed my life. I also recommend getting the Runkeeper app. It keeps me so motivated and it keep track of distance, pace, and time. It's cool to see how…
  • Is there such a thing as BAD insulin resistance? Isn't it all relatively bad? Isn't the BAD IR diabetes?
  • After about a week the cravings go away. I use to fight it until it just went away. Regular servings of fruits really helped curve the cravings for it. I WOULDN'T eat small bits of candy or small servings of junk. It will just make your body crave it more.
  • I'm a teacher too that works 12 hour days 5 days a week and every Sunday. I was struggling with this very issue until I asked myself "how bad do I want it?" I started waking up at 4:30 am to jog. I joined the YMCA and FORCE myself to stop working and attend a class. I put an hour aside for myself a day to do whatever I…
  • I went to my doctor about this very issue. She told me that people who lose weight like this is because it's hormone based. She also told me not to worry about it. =)
  • I'm diabetic with PCOS. I'm low carb and LOWER fat. If you'd like to add me as a friend to get some meal ideas, you're more than welcome. Although, today isn't a good representation of that. lol
  • I've hit so many plateaus during my weight loss! The only thing that helps is to switch up what you're doing. If you're eating the same stuff everyday and exercising the same way every week, your body gets in a routine too. Switch it up!
  • I agree with everything stated above! I was having the same issues and my doctor recommended a few things for me.... 1. Smooth Move Tea - this stuff is awesome and unfortunately, one of the best tasting teas I've ever had! 2. Pro-biotic with the highest level of good organisms you can find. I found one at Walmart that had…
  • Sorry, this is a pet peeve.... loose - not firmly or tightly fixed in place; detached or able to be detached. lose - be deprived of or cease to have or retain (something). Good luck finding friends in your area!
  • I use to be like this during business meetings and conferences. These two things always seem to have TONS of food at them. I started becoming aware of the calories that were inside of them. I also eat small that day in case I do decide to snack when I'm out. It's about a balance, you got to find it. I developed NEW habit…
  • I live in a beach town and we don't visit stores in our swim wear. Most places here also make it a requirement to wear shoes and a shirt inside the store.
  • I posted this same question a few weeks ago. I live out in the middle of the boonies and didn't have access to a running store, other runners or knowledgeable shoe merchants. If you have a runner's store near by, go there first! NOT sporting goods, a legit running store. Someone recommended Runner's World shoe finder. I…
  • Thanks for the great info! I will peep runner's world this afternoon.
  • I actually eat very few carbs at all. If I do "carb load" it's with fruit. I have a gluten allergy and am on a low carb diet. I was thinking of increasing my carb intake on running days to help fuel me.
  • I had hair loss about 6 months into my weight loss. I assume it was from my hair becoming healthier and fuller. If you take a look at my before and after photos, you can obviously see my hair changed color and thickness. It's amazing what our bodies do!
