  • Yep I agree with you, its all a show. I know that entertainment Aids our short term memory loss, but if we remember we had this same "end of the world" show all of 1999 leading up to 2000 (Y2K), and as i thought nothin happened. These end of the world episodes are all from interpretation (or misinterpretation). And guess…
  • All i can say is WOW, WOW, WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yea and im going to the Gym right now !!!!!!!!!! Hopefully before and after picks in the next few months ?????
  • Yep Cassandra said it, Basically this is a big misconception. To "bulk up" even if you were lifting heavy weights, you would have to start consuming betwwen 3000-5000 calories (mainly protein) as muscles need a lot of substanace to grow, so dont worry at all about doing light weights, and even if you want edto increase the…
  • I used to have to have 4 sugars in my coffee, i now have to teaspoons of honey, which is much healthier, and tastes pretty much the same as sugar. I know have cut out white sugar (granulated) out of my diet completely. I guess the only sugar i eat is hidden in some if the food i eat, even though i eat much healthier foods…
  • My prayers go out to you and your mother, i hope she feels better soon. If you have lost 47 lbs, i wouldnt worry about 2 or 3. i go up and down by 2-3 lbs on a daily basis. All the best
  • I would say, put down those books, and get to the gym. i have struggled with motivation all my life (apart from the one time 10 years ago when i acheived my goal and slimmed right down). What is working for me this time is the fact that i set mid and long term goals. Instead of looking for results within the first 3 mtns,…
  • Hi there Colombiana444 I dont mean to sound rude, but is that really your real before and after? If it is all i can say is WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did you do it and how long did it take? how did you get that kind of definition? You have made me want to run to the gym right now. Your pictures, without being male-ish after…
  • Hi Binky First of all definitely do not continue with eating only a 1000 per day. What happens is if you eat less than around 1200 calories the body goes into starvation mode, which means that even when you exercise the body will hold on to the fat deposts as it thinks that it will not get enough fuel to work. I found it…
  • Hey Karissa I have heard a few different answers to this question. I read that it is good to workout early in the morning before food as the calories you burn immediately start to take form your "fat" reserves rather than burning off the food you have just eaten. I also heard that you should eat something before a hard…
  • What is Zumba??????????
  • Someone said it perfect, people who say that its an addiction mainly do not work out. Im not saying that it cant get to dangerous levels, but do not apologise for working out and creating a better quality of life for yourself. I think people do not understand that once you make the decision to change your lifestyle, you do…
  • Hey All This is very good, i am now even more motivated. Making a promise to yourself and others is a great start. Thank you for sharing your pledges it will inspire ourselves and many others. I know this journey is hard, but it is the most enjoyable and rewarding journey ever. We can do this.....I'm so proud of you all…
  • Hey CurvyKatie In 1 session I burn approx 750cals doing 60 mins cardio and around 400cals doing 60 mins strength training (gym), I do that twice a week. And then i do a Body Pump class twice a week which burns around 500-600 cals per session. And on Saturday i do body combat which again burns approx 500 cals.
  • Hey Emma You are right, you must focus on repairing first, as if you dont you may be out even longer. But i was thinking maybe you can use the hand bikes (at most gyms) for your cardio workouts which means you can still rest your foot and burn loads of calories. you could also do light weight training (Upper body) which…
  • Het Sarah LM, if you have decided to do this, please dont give up, i used have the same thought untill someone said to me "if you have spent 5-10 years putting it on, how do you expect it to come off in a few months". This really put things into perspective for me. Obviously i was looking at a short term goal. To be honest…
  • I totally agree with clk 238. The body quickly adapts to running, stair master etc. After a few weeks the body will adjust to the level. What you can do is increase the cardio, but then again there only so long you can run for. I've gone from 15 mins interval training - 60 mins interval training in 4 weeks. This cardio is…
  • Absolutely right brendalee, Reedman there definately IS such a thing as sugar addiction and guess what, 80% of people suffer from it. In fact people are addicted to sugar and dont even know it. Have you ever had a headache and been told to "drink a sweet cup of tea" or "to eat a bar of choclate" this is generally because…
  • Hey, My motivation Is that at 32 if i do not conquer this once and for all, it will haunt me for the rest of my life. So i decided this is it, its too hard to start from scratch all the time, the first 2-3 weeks is constant pain and i cant be bothered any more. What i can be bothered to do is get myself healthy once and…
  • I used to be excately the same, i recently read an article called "Sugar Junky" It was about a recovering sugar addict. He explained that this addiction was embedded in him as a child. (does anyone remember hearing "if you do not eat your dinner, you will not get a treat") which in turn bribed us to eat the dinner so we…
