Well done, great weight loss, but the nsv of dropping so many sizes must feel amazing. I'm where you were back in December, one stop shopping lump it or like it. I lose 20lb then put it back on (a damn sight quicker too). However, I'm back here keeping it simple - eat less, move more and logging daily. I'll look out for…

Good Morning from the Uk Bumping for a darn good read later. The promise I've made, to myself, is listen, learn and participate. Nicola

True! In my humble opinion your doctor was trying to keep it simple. You have to lose a lot of weight and he didn't want to make it more complicated than it needs to be. Eat less, move more and argue the toss about BMI versus Body fat % when you're a lot closer to goal. It's just a guess, but I think he was just spouting a…

Thank you! I'm printing this off to carry with me. You're a star that shines a little brighter then the rest

Hi Rob, Congratulations on your weight loss 65lbs no less! Feel free to add me, I'm here for the long haul so perhaps we can get there together?

No arguments from me

Hi Julie Good luck with your journey to getting fitter and even more fabulous. If you don't know already MFP is brilliant at keeping you focused on little victories as well as the bigger ones. This site is amazing for motivation and quick to acknowledge a 0.5lb loss is terrific and quick to forget those times when you just…

Great to hear you're trying on your own. I asked my doctor for surgical help and he said I wasn't heavy enough. Thankfully I found MFP before I considered putting weight on!

There are so many truly inspirational stories here, just in this post! Love the list of weight loss equivalents! I guess when I have moments of self doubt I try and remind myself that I could have made my journey a lot harder for myself. I could have started at 4, 5, 6 or even 800lbs. Or I could have left it until my…

I don't think it just about weight loss. Since I've started drinking 2ltrs each day my skin is looking healthier and younger. I also read here that it helps with restoring normal skin after losing a large amount of weight.

Hi, well done - great loss! I'm also here for the long term. Feel free to add me

*Pulling faces at the picture* I just had to add to this thread. I've not long started using a workout DVD. So far I've dropped 16 inches in the last two weeks, but Zero weight loss. I'm over 230lbs so I've got of inches spare. It would be nice if I weighed less too but I guess it will come down eventually. The picture is…

Congratulations 4lbs down.... and now counting. MFP is an amazing community, you only have to read the success stories to see that people do lose considerable amounts of weight. Every day someone hits their target. Some do it in a matter of months others take years. Their photo are incredible! And, one day I plan to be one…

Amazing photos! What a transformation!

Lol who said Americans don't understand sarcasm?! Not sure which is funnier those that have taken the post seriously or those who are seriously taking the mickey!

Ah bless you, I bet you were absolutely gutted! I know you were because it happens to me too. In the past I would stick faithfully and the scales wouldn't budge or worse they move up. This would be the point when I'd give up, but not this time. Which has led to a couple of realisations. First there is a sort of pattern…

Hi and welcome to MFP. Plenty of tools here to help with staying focussed and over coming any hurdles. Feel free to add me.

My favourite is the boxing and step. My only negative is the fact it insists that you check weight every day.

I do it bare foot too because I do it first thing. I have thought maybe I should put on some trainers...

Hi and welcome to MFP. Lots of good advice, but that's one of the great things about this community. Any question just throw it out there. Some opinions/advice helps, and some doesn't. I realised that with all the will in the world I am not able to live on celery and diet coke. My weight loss is averaging two pounds a week…

Its so reassuring not to be alone! I weigh daily on my Wii fit (because it tells me to) but record losses once a week on MFP. We don't talk about gains...
