  • Omg, crunchy! I used to put PB on saltine crackers and make little sandwiches. I still do if I need a snack and have lots of calories left over! Love peanut butter!
  • You are so speaking my language today. I'm feeling exactly the same way. I was in the UK for two weeks, and didn't log at all, food or exercise. I still managed to lose another couple of pounds, but since coming home a few days ago, I literally want nothing to do with logging food - which is strange since I've been pretty…
  • I absolutely don't believe that you've screwed up your body, lol. You're just at a plateau, which happens to all of us. You may need to tinker with your caloric intake, or what kinds of foods you are eating. You may also need to revamp your exercise routine, as our bodies become used to the same old gym routine after a…
  • I used to take the day off of logging once in a while, and then it just felt too weird not to log! So, usually I will still take a day off of worrying about my calorie totals but I still end up logging it. And it never turns out to be as a bad as I think it will be! I didn't log over Christmas though. And I'm going away…
  • I'm 5'3 and my 1st goal weight is 160. I didn't really choose it per se, but my fitness consultant at my gym did back in December. I guess based on my measurements, frame, fitness and body fat %, the weight of 160 would bring me in a good body fat percentage. So he put me on a goal of "160 by May Long weekend" (end of…
  • I don't consistently gain water weight during TOM either. It seems like once every few months I'll have a really bad time of it and bloat ridiculously, but then the next month will be perfectly fine with minimal weight gain. I think it probably happens to everyone. I do enjoy the week AFTER TOM when it seems like my weight…
  • Nuts, like almonds, etc? They are a high-calorie food but full of nutrient-goodness!
  • I like the Cheese Nips (crackers) 100 calorie pack. I crave salty/crunchy more than sugar or chocolate, and I always eat ONLY one package. It's enough to feel like I'm getting my craving under control, but it's all portioned out for me - which is something I could never do if I was eating the crackers out of the regular…
  • It's actually very common for your weight to fluctuate several pounds up or down throughout a day. The food and water you consume aren't weightless. While they're digesting, they will affect your weight. Your "waste" can also affect your weight. Your body retains water for a variety of reasons, a major one is sodium. So,…
  • Honestly, it's been only in the past few weeks that I've really noticed the difference in myself. Sort of when I hit about 20 pounds lost. Some people notice it straight away, but it's taken me a while to get to that point. I've only recently gone down a size and people are only just starting to notice the difference in…

  • Coffee - so boring, I know!
  • Argos might have some decent ones?
  • Headaches are often caused by strains or spasms in your neck muscles, and not actually anything to do with your head itself! Perhaps you've done something to your neck? It's funny because I have had a headache all day, and was just rubbing my head and mentally groaning about it when I clicked on this topic, lol. I think I…
  • I've come to appreciate Wendy's a little more than I used to. If I go there, I can get a 5 piece nuggets and a small chili and it comes to about 450 calories altogether. It's probably still not the best for you, but I do feel like there's a bit more options at Wendy's instead of the typical fries and burgers. Often times,…
  • For snacktimes: Thinsations 100 Calorie Cheese Nips are my friend. Potato chips used to be my friend. Now we just meet every couple of weeks for a clandestine rendez-vous.
  • July 1 for me! My sister was born in November and was always the thinner one.
  • 1) To be at 165lbs for my trip to the UK in two weeks! 2) To at least maintain my weight, if not lose, during my trip (it's always pretty walking-heavy in London for me!) 3) To be 160lbs for the Victoria Day weekend (May 23 to non-Canadian folk  ). I'm sitting at 167 as of right now, so I hope I can do it! 160 is my…
  • I refused to give up coffee, but I cut waaay back (though some days I can still slam back quite a few cups  ) and replaced it with drinks that I could count towards my water intake (ie. decaf, herbal teas, etc). I also cut down from having 2 cream/2 sugar in my coffee to only cream. So, any ill effects of my coffee…
  • 5'3 167lbs Pants size: 12 (US) Tops: M Shoe size: 7.5
  • I joined in late October and have lost nearly 25 pounds - so averaging a little under 5 pounds a month. Definitely not the instant gratification that I was hoping for , but hey ho. I also tend to lose in 'fits and starts' - where I'll lose 2-3 pounds in two weeks, but then not lose for another 2-3 weeks, which is…
  • Depending on where you are traveling, there are many places where you can get free wifi for your phone or Ipod. Starbucks and McDonalds in the UK (and I'm assuming throughout Europe) have free wifi, along with many libraries and independent cafe's. Many Internet cafe's only charge £1/1 Euro for a half hour or an hour of…
  • Well done - I love crisps with all my heart! I can go about 2 weeks without before I need to "fit them into" my day :P I figure, a bowl of crisps every two weeks isn't so terrible, lol If I could just eliminate their presence from my brain altogether though, that'd be great :P
  • I don't count regular caffeinated coffee/tea, but decaffeinated coffee and herbal teas I definitely count! I also struggle to drink enough water (I like it, so I don't know why - just never feel the need to go pour myself a glass I guess, lol) so I like adding my evening cup of peppermint or chamomile tea :) I love coffee…
  • I think when people go on "diets", which encourage you to limit or eliminate a particular food/group of food, they find it more difficult to stick with it and struggle when it doesn't go as well. Or when they revert back to eating normally, the weight comes back on. Most people here are in it for a lifestyle change, and…
  • Hiya! Am also trying to work off the winter hibernation weight in Canada (though the constant COLD temperatures aren't helping! Ugh) I joined MFP in October - starting weight 191, 5'3' Am currently at 168 - down 23 pounds :). My goal weight for now is 160, after that I'll re-assess!! Feel free to add me as a friend! :)…
  • Kelsey's and Montanas have their nutritional info online as well :)
  • I'm 20 pounds down and I can't say that I've gone down an official size yet. I had purchased a pair of jeans pre-lifestyle change that were too snug (they were buy one get a 2nd pair free, so I figured a free pair couldn't hurt :P ) and after about 10-15 pounds they fit perfectly and now they are starting to border on the…
  • Thanks Laury for the advice! I'm just super frustrated because I can't pinpoint what I've done to it, but it must've been something that seemed so minor at the time (maybe a slight roll of the ankle when running Tuesday night) but that flared up later. Grr. Swimming it is and upper body it is, I suppose!
  • Depends on what info you inputted into the machine, and if you took any heart rate readings on the machine (if it's capable). Sometimes when I am on a machine (even with a constant heart rate reading), the difference between the machine and my HRM can be almost 100 calories - which is so so depressing.
  • I think I might have to! I enjoy swimming socially, lol, not so much as a fitness activity because I tend to get bored, but I'll have to do what I can! Thanks for the suggestion :)
