I was officially diagnosed with PCOS a few months ago. I've always assumed I had it but never was diagnosed. I have lost 147 lbs in 13 months so it really hasn't seemed to affect me. My doctor did tell me that I could possible get rid of it if I kept losing weight. I guess time will tell. My sister also has it and it is a…

I agree...don't be so hard on yourself. I do personally know how you feel and know that it can be a mental mind battle. I have actually found that eating some of the foods I love from time to time has helped me accomplish what I have so far. I don't think it is realistic to never eat the foods you love ever again. As long…

Fantastic job and fantastic advice!

ABSOLUTELY!!! I didn’t set a goal weight in the beginning; instead I focused on hitting smaller goals like look and feel better, make exercise easier and less painful, certain clothing sizes and manageable weight loss goals. This helped me keep things in perspective. I didn’t want to set myself up for failure and keep…

Here are a few things that I have learned and what has helped me on my journey (this is just my opinion): I didn’t set a goal weight at first; instead I focused on hitting smaller goals like look and feel better, make exercise easier and less painful, certain clothing sizes and manageable weight loss goals. This helped me…

Great job everyone!!! I'm down 147 lbs with 19 more to go. This was from the beginning, after 30 lbs and then the 1 year mark which was 130 lbs down. Here is a current pic at 147lbs down.

Amazing job! I have no doubt that you will hit your goal of the last 30 lbs. Keep it up girl!!

Thanks so much! The way I feel now is incredible....in every aspect of my life, I feel better. I actually look and feel better than I did in my mid 20's and that is such a good feeling!
-
Thanks so much for all of the kind comments and encouragement! It definitely helps keep me going. Only 19 lbs away from my goal and am planning on taking a weekend get-a-way as my last and final reward for hitting my goal. I can't wait!! :)

My motto is it's life, enjoy it and do everything in moderation. I have made a lot of changes, eat healthier and make better choices...but....I definitely do not eat like that all the time. If I didn't eat the foods I love, I would never make it. I really believe that I have been so successful b/c I allow myself to eat…

Super duper exciting!! Getting into smaller sizes is such a confidence and motivation boost!! You look FANTASTIC!!!! Absolutely LOVE your story!!

I like many others on here definitely wish I had measured. I kick myself quite often for not having the exact measurements and have just gone by clothing size charts to get a guesstimate. Would have definitely liked to have a few more before pictures and progress pictures along the way.

Thank you so much!!

I'm 33 until Sunday! I look and feel better than I did in my 20's.

I put mine in a box in storage and will eventually donate them. I didn't buy clothes for the longest time and kept on wearing sizes that were too big. It made a huge difference in my confidence and comments people made once I started wearing clothes that actually fit. I finally stopped wearing saggy butt jeans. I would…

Thank you so much! In the beginning I stuck to my calorie goals assigned by mfp (keep in mind it was a lot b/c i was so much heavier) and very rarely ate back my exercise calories. as i lost weight my allotted calories decreased and my exercise amount increased. on the weekends i would typically eat back some of my…

FANTASTIC job!! Congratulations to you! You are so right, a year does seem like a long time but it does go by so fast. I was shocked at how much I was able to accomplish in 1 year and how quickly it flew by. Keep up the fantastic work!

I'm 5'8" too and looking to get to 180. I have a large frame and very athletic build. I have had multiple people guess that I currently weight 160 - 165, which makes me feel really good, but it's far from what I actually weigh. I think getting down to the 160's is too much for me and I am not sure I could maintain that.…

When I eat out and the restaurant doesn't' have nutrition info, I look up similar restaurants and see what their calories are for a similar meal. If I can't find something comparable, I will individually list the ingredients, if possible. For what you listed, I would definitely just calculate the ingredients individually…

That is fantastic!! Before you know it, you will be beating him. Keep it up!

I couldn't agree more with the other posters in this is not a "diet" it's a lifestyle change. I had to reprogram my mind to understand that and that is why I feel that I have been so successful. A few things that I have learned over the last year are: 1. weigh and measure everything you can. plan ahead when going out to…

Definitely Have To Try These! Thanks!
