We don't go to work out of habit we go due to motivation. Whether that be to get money to pay the bills, because we love what we do or for any other reason. The act doesn't equate to motivation or lack thereof.

What is your inspiration/motivation? Why do you want to lose weight?
-
You will lose much more weight based on what you do in your kitchen than you will on what you do at the gym. Go to the gym to get fitter but eat properly to lose weight.

It's great that you have decided to take charge of your life. This is a great resource for lots of ideas from people who have been through what you have been through. It is worth keeping in mind that most people on the boards are cheerleaders for their ways of life. There is nothing wrong with that, it's human nature, but…

If you believe that a lack of knowledge caused this problem, which may or may not actually exist, then why would you turn to an open forum on the internet in order to seek guidance?

I was 97.6 kg on September 1. I was 92.3 kg on the 30/11. That's an extra 1 kg down on what I was aiming for so I am very pleased with that. I am currently losing at rate of about .5kg per week and hope to sustain that up until Christmas then have a couple of flat weeks and then start losing again early in January.

Maybe never ever ever take nutritional advice from a personal trainer, all they are qualified to do is count up to 10 and then backwards down to 1.

Do you have digital scales or older "analogue" ones?

96.9 loss of 0.1 Back on track, finally, I think. Have been doing the right things for the past few weeks and just slowly starting to see some results which is a nice pay off.

Nobody is going to yell at you they will all just head over to the next banal thread now

I weighed in on Wednesday and the scales hadn't moved. 96.3 still. I did a lot of cardio last week, came in under calories everyday and that was my reward! So I put the scales away and have vowed to only weigh myself once a week because it is kind of doing my head in and i'm going all OCD and weighing myself a couple of…

My cycling hasn't happened as it should have this week due to medical reasons on Tuesday and yesterday it was raining. I have tried to make up for this deficiency by getting out and walking this week. I have about 10km's on the clock so far and should be able to add another 6 or 7 tonight. Saturday is pretty busy but with…

Last June I weighed in at 103.3 kg's. By April 1 this year I was down to 93.7 kg's. I am now back at 97.8 kg's. I want to be at 93.3 kg's by the end of this 3 month challenge. I have put together a 4 week cycling program which is part of a 16 week program. By riding 3 days a week and working into some strength training on…

I find it hard to base major lifestyle choices on the choices, or lack there of, made by a group of people who at the very extreme were lucky to live past about 45. They didn't get cancer, they didn't get this, they didn't get that. Yeah cause they were dead and buried well before any disease had a chance to get them.…
