You should try making your own healthy pizza! Pizza is actually a very well rounded, balanced meal when paired with a salad and topped with lean chicken. Just buy some whole wheat dough, low fat cheese, use tomato puree instead of the sugary tomato sauces sold in stores, top it with veggies and herbs and viola! You can…

Kashi chewy bars have about 5g sugar!!! There's actually an app for the iphone called FOODUCATE, where you can scan packaged stuff and it gives it a grade based on how healthy it is then it recommends alternatives as well.

if your clothes don't fit any differently you may be gaining lean muscle. I weigh more than I did this summer but I can do more pushups and lift heavier weights, and still fit into my jeans

I go through maybe 3-4 days without binging then all of the sudden if a new food is introduced into my house, or if I go over a friend's house, or even when i have a cocktail or two I just lose control and eat everything in sight until I'm physically sick. I know for a fact that nuts and granola are are triggers for me. I…

Salads are great, just not everyday. I used to eat salads all the time and I now developed a fructose intolerance which basically means I can't have processed foods, added sugar or too many fruit and raw veggies. So maybe try cooked salad? I like to just roast a bunch of veggies, put a light balsamic herb sort of dressing…

Hey everyone! I'm 21 and definitely looking for friends on here. Feel free to add me :)

But yeah there are a ton of resources online where you can kind of guesstimate how many calories you burned in one class. I usually just average my findings together

MFP frustrates me so much! They should definitely vary up the yoga selection. Vinyasa and Bikram are both definitely cardiovascular workouts and are usually have the same calorie burn as a slow paced jog or speed walk (depending on the difficulty of the class and how much energy you put into it).

"That is sooooo shanti."

Bikram is a series of 26 postures, each repeated twice. Livestrong says "Bikram yoga is certainly an effective cardio workout. It burns 500 to 1,000 calories per session, which is 30 percent more than other forms of yoga, according to Fit Day. The extreme temperatures at which bikram is practiced encourage the body to…

In response to the gassiness question: You're probably farting like crazy because of the increased amount of fiber intake. Usually healthy foods (i.e. fruits, veggies, beans, nuts) pack a tonnn of fiber that your intestines aren't used to. Try to monitor your fiber intake and see what the deal is

Yoga is so incredible!! I had a few hip issues but after doing yoga for the past few years I feel so much better. As for weight loss benefits, it depends what kind of yoga you do. I was in Europe last semester and fell out of shape, since being back home I've been doing vinyasa yoga (burns about 500 cal/hour) and hot…

I really think you're taking all of the right steps to recovery. I saw a therapist and nutritionist as well and neither one gave me very helpful techniques. I think being honest on this site will be my best bet. Although we may all be ashamed of how much we eat during a binge, when I log it (as much as I don't want to) I…

I don't think you guys understand how happy I am that I found this group. I binge on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and just feel so worthless and sick afterwards. I've been struggling with binge-eating disorder for two years now and one recent thing that has helped me is to look at each binge, acknowledge it, and just promise…

Hey everyone! So last year I was diagnosed with binge eating disorder and my weight keeps fluctuating very drastically. I work out like crazy and love yoga, spinning, kickboxing etc. However, all of the sweat and hard work is in vain; every calorie burned off is negated by my daily, sometimes bi-daily, binge sessions. I…
