  • Olive oil infused with lemon, and caramelised onion or shallot infused in the balsamic vinegar, make great salad dressings on their own or mixed together (a little salt and pepper if you like too). Lovely to dip crusty bread into if you have the spare calories, As the oil tastes lemony, very little is required for a great…
  • probably needs looking into deeper as some have suggested, but until you work out what is the reason for the cravings, (sometimes I think boredom and habit are the answer) I find that brushing my teeth, mouthwash then a good rubbing in of a scented hand cream helps. I hate the taste of almost everything else when I've…
  • that's amazing. What a wonderful 6 months work. Keep it up, you should be so proud of yourself.
  • I hope you like it, it's one of our favourites. Good idea with the lasagne to make for a more relaxing day. We can put a lot of pressure on ourselves at this time of year. Happy New Year
  • pea and ham soup. So comforting and warming. And a pleasant change from all the rich Christmas food. Also either turkey and ham or chicken and ham pie (whatever bird you might have some meat left over from), make some white sauce add the ham and whatever else you have and either have it with a pastry crust, or mashed…
  • Kurriana, please don't be hard on yourself. You've done great already, and as others have said, one bad choice isn't going to send you back to your old ways. Ask yourself how much did you really enjoy the meal? if you really did enjoy it, then allow yourself a smaller version once a week or fortnight or something like that…
  • thank you. I've stayed the same, but am happy with that as I've had 2 holidays this month.
  • well I've stayed the same, but considering I've had 2 holidays in the past month, I'm more than happy with that. It could've been a disaster and wasn't, so that's what I was looking for. Back on track properly from today as I'm back at work. Good luck everyone xxxx
  • I didn't meet September goal but maybe it was a bit ambitious. I am pleased with my loss 5.5lbs. I gave myself a 6lb target for October and lost 4lb last week so very pleased. I think I'll keep target the same as I can't expect those losses every week and have 2 holidays in October.
  • Lurch Spiralo Vegetable Spiralizer Green/Cream - this is the one I have. It's very easy to use, works on all types of vegetables from cucumbers to potatoes, is very easy to clean as well, with very little waste (No core left just a small disk) (I often stop using gadgets because they are so much bother to clean up, but I…
  • I'm chuffed, lost 2lb last week. Have been making a real effort though, but glad my efforts showed, it's a boost to see some real weight coming off for a change. Well done to everyone else that's still here and trying too xxx
  • Ironically that is about how much I've gained over the past year!!!!!
  • It's really nice that you have all taken time to reply and voice your own feelings and opinions, it's good to know you're not on your own and others have the same issues as yourself. And great to hear from people that this has worked for - Here's to success and happiness to everyone along the way to whatever it is you are…
  • haha - I would probably giggle too. Although it might just stop me for that mindless second that it takes to grab a slice of something from a pack etc to just make me think don't do it. I've just thought, a photo of myself would probably be the best thing to put there. A few I've seen of myself lately would put anyone off…
  • thanks rugratz2015. When my children were young I used to put washing up liquid straight away on their leftovers to stop me picking before I got chance to wash up!! (desperate times mean desperate measures), now I'm thinking of putting a big sign on the door of my fridge saying something like STOP DO YOU REALLY WANT IT? I…
  • thank you so much for your kind words and understanding. You are on the button as I am short 4ft 11in, 53 yrs and now unfortunately due to some health issues quite sedentary too! Trying to move more as well now though too, so hopefully it will all come together. I don't expect miracles, but a slow steady loss would be…
  • good luck, I hope you reach your goal. I empathise with you xx
  • that's good. That is what I was hoping for, it shocked me how just a few small amounts make such a big difference when you add them all up. It shouldn't have shocked me because I know, but obviously wasn't realising how small the amounts can be to make the difference. We all know if we have extra slices of cake, or boxes…
  • We sound similar types. Although 2 months at the beach in Italy? I am so envious xxx
  • congratulations xxx
  • I feel it. This was my point exactly. We are responsible for ourselves and the only ones that can help ourselves. It's a bit of a shock isn't it. Good luck to you - let's hope by weighing more we'll weigh less xxx
  • quote="TinyTexn59;33989773"]Thank you for sharing this. You made and excellent point! Little things add up and not being diligent makes a difference! I don't find this miserable at all. Knowing what works for each of us and doing it is smart.[/quote] thank you xxx
  • Congratulations!! kudos to you - This is an inspiration to me
  • Hi - I don't know if this will help you, but it might. It's helped me get my head into gear so to speak. I posted it under this heading earlier this morning. Hi guys. I hope this might help someone else who is "stuck" and not losing even though you are eating healthily and logging your foods. I've been stuck for about a…
  • thanks everyone. Gaining weight, feeling the pain and insecurity that comes with it is a miserable way to live for me. I don't mind investing a couple of minutes a day to weigh my food if that's what it takes to get it off. I just wish I had copped myself on sooner. As you say horses for courses. I'd be interested to hear…
  • That's how I see it too. I think we can kid ourselves for a while, but when something isn't working we need to look deeper and we usually find the answer. Thank you both for your kind words, I hope I will be posting here with a success story one day. I know if I carry on I will, I am the only one who can make the…
