  • Welcome! Giving up the scale is like kicking a bad habit. It is hard at first but once you do it, it gets easier. I forget we have a scale. What has helped me is measuring my goals in other ways besides in pounds. I had a skin condition I watched go away as I ate better. I looked at my fingernails as they grew stronger and…
  • My husband and I joined the 20 Fresh, it is an online service where you pay an annual fee and then they send weekly shopping list and five meals you make from those list. Group on often has discounts for their annual fee. They have a lot of choices in menus, traditional, gluten free, vegetarian and so on. We get the…
  • You are amazing and beautiful. Great job. Your smile glows. Also thank you, I am 43 and wondered how my age would effect this journey. I see you an change things around at any age.
  • I keep beans in stock. I make them in a crock pot, fresh black beans, pinto beans and red beans. I cook each separately. Then I freeze them into serving size bags. An easy go to beans and rice, tacos, wraps... cheap and quick.
  • My main drink is water too. Diet coke is empty calories.
  • I recently watched the documentary "Hungry for change" it has a hokey little side story but interviews with dietitians were very informative. They explain why diet coke will sabotage your diet. It is free on Netflix streaming if you have it. I had a mild (compare to yours) coke addiction. I was able to tame it by drinking…
  • Great job. So wonderful you did it together.

  • I think the original person who posted this was just trying to be helpful.
  • If I don't take my birth control I will most certainly gain weight! LOL.
  • I was alloted a little over 1300 but I changed my goal to allow me more. I feel way better now, I think my body was just adjusting.
  • I am new here and I am about to turn 42. Yes, it is so much harder losing weight at this age. I wish I listened to all the people who warned me my metabolism would change as I got older.
  • I think this is a lot of weight to have lost! I am trying to lose 20 pounds and while that may not sound like a lot, I am 5"3. I started at 165 #.
  • I try to weigh in only once a week, because daily I do not see the progress once it comes off slowly. Once a week gives me enough time to make a difference. Since I started this path to changing my lifestyle I have not weighed in - it has only been three days, and I probably won't weigh in for two weeks because we are…
  • I am thinking of doing the same because- well I actually cried I just don't know what to eat. All of the media and trends confuse me. I recently found out I have high cholesterol so my insurance may cover the visit. I also have IBS. I really just want someone to give me a grocery list and recipe box. It is so hard to…

  • I think since you are breast feeding it is more a matter of where your calories are coming from than how many calories. Increase your calorie allowance but make sure those calories come from healthy, good food. Hope you feel better.
  • We have the same mind set, though I have I think about 20 pounds to lose. That may be way less but the last time I lost 20 pounds it took a year. I hope it doesn't take that long this time. I plan on being better about calorie counting. My journey just started today. Today I got news that my cholesterol is very high. I…
  • Thanks for sharing your success, inspiring.
