I think it's the combination of laziness, a sedentary work environment (majority), the extreme lack of food education, and the pervasiveness of food companies in selling us crap for cheap while good healthy food is more lucky to break the bank.

Yeah, water makes a huge difference. Just don't drink too much :-)

If your scale is still telling you that you've gained 20 lbs in a day after moving it to a flat, level surface then I'd really go see your doctor. It is possible to gain that much weight in a day if your body is not getting rid of water/regulating it properly

I just want to point out that your body burns fat from wherever it wants. You can do 500 crunches a day and have very strong muscles sitting underneath a layer of fat because your body is choosing to eat fat from your rump or wherever first. It's frustrating but, part of getting the abs (just from what I'm told-I don't…

I had the misfortune of reading an article recently in a running magazine I frequent that talked about the fact that the washboard ab, the crease, six-packs, etc. have a lot to do with genetics. You can get plenty in shape but may never see the long sought after washboard ab. Depressing :-( However, it also has to do with…

The time of day doesn't really matter but in my experience I find that if I stop eating at least two-hours before I go to bed that I have seen a positive difference in weight. One thing to note is that wrestlers focus on losing a ton of water weight very fast as opposed to a healthy, sustainable way of actually losing…

This is kind of complicated as it depends on what activities you're doing for exercise. A runner, for example, has a higher need of carbohydrates for good performance and recovery than say a body builder where protein amount is more important. For me it's the fact that my now ex-fiancee keeps trying to call me and see me. The whole time she's saying I can't stop thinking of you, yet doesn't want a relationship with me. Very annoying indeed!

Congratulations on your amazing successes! Looking great!

I have had issues with this in the past and honestly the only answer is what someone already recommended. If you're eating because you're bored, get up and do something. If you're hungry, then eat sensibly! At my peak of binge eating I was taking in 2500-3000 calories a day. Now when I start to get a boredom craving I pick…

Welcome to the site and congratulations on taking steps forward to improve yourself. I hope that you'll find a lot of support and good tips here. Like you said it's important to do this for yourself as in my experience when I've done it for other people, I've often fizzled out. The one thing I do want to say is that in my…

Welcome to the site and the best of luck to you. I am similarly looking to improve my life both professionally and personally. For a long while I was sick with depression and feelings of being alone in the world. One thing I can say is that running and nutrition have proven to be one of the best kinds of medicines. I hope…
