  • Skinless chicken breast (grilled or in a stirfry) Tuna in springwater (in a salad or stirfry) Cottage cheese (in a 'cheesecake' smoothie) Red kidney beans (in chilli, burritos or pasta sauce) Salmon (pan fried) or protein powder when I'm stuck!
  • I usually rest the first day or two of a cold off, when I'm feeling the worst - then get back into it the best I can. If I still feel lousy I'll just decrease either the intensity or time of the workout until I'm 100% again. Anyway my husband usually bans me from the gym until he thinks I look healthy enough
  • I'm on the pill and it hasn't caused me to gain any weight, nor have I had any issues losing when I want to. Emotional problems were more of an issue for me - Yaz turned me into a complete lunatic (my poor husband, I'm honestly suprised he didnt up and leave) - I never made the connection until the pharmacy gave me Yasmin…
  • Thanks for the input - I think I was just overcomplicating it in my head. Just going to keep going as I was going and increasing the intensity as I get fitter. It makes me sweat like nothing else so its got to be doing some good lol.
  • Fruit: Bananas, Apples, Oranges Fridge: Greek Yoghurt Eggs Oatmeal Low Fat Milk Freezer: Mixed Vegetables Chicken Breast Berries Pantry: Brown Rice Canned Tuna I could live off the above pretty well for ages, and aside from the fruit its all stuff that lasts ages.
  • I'm from Melbourne!!!! Although I live overseas at the moment. I still call Australia home though!! Best place in the world
  • I don't have scales at home so I weigh myself at the gym after my workout on Mon-Wed-Fri. Mostly just to keep track of the trend, I'm trying to maintain and my weight is usually pretty stable unless I've been a bit of a pig. Sometimes if I know its going to be bad I'll skip a weigh in so I don't get too upset
  • Hi, welcome to MFP :) I'm from Melbourne, but also living in Europe for the past 4 years. Currently just across the sea from you in Holland. Boot camp sounds great, good luck!
  • Weigh in tomorrow, bit worried but I'm sure I'll burn it off at the gym!
  • Yep, don't give a damn today. Enjoying the weekend, eating my chocolate, back on track tomorrow. Life is for living!!
  • I feel the same - thats why I try to take a break from logging on weekends. Just so that I can have fun cooking a meal, adding a bit of this and a bit of that, without having to stop and measure every little thing, and not have to weigh every snack before I can sit down and eat it. Like someone mentioned above, if you are…
  • Thanks for the tip. My gym offers a free session with a trainer every 6 weeks but I have avoided it as I see all the women who use it doing the exact same program - lots of cardio and not much strength. Perhaps if I go in really clear about what I want they will be able to help me.
  • I actually get very similar results on the treadmill and MFP - do you enter your weight on the treadmill when you start? I used to get whacky numbers when I first started out, then I realised that the automatic weight setting was 10kg heavier than me. I eat back all my exercise calories using MFP estimates and still lose…
  • Agh lucky you, I have the opposite problem lol. Belly is shrinking, and my hips still looks disproportionately huge!! Just comes down to genetics really, everyone has their own area that the fat comes off last. As you reduce your body fat % it will gradually decrease over time. You can do ab exercises to tighten up the…
  • Are you able to swim?
  • I have the same problem. I'm from (relatively) sunny Australia, and currently living in the cold, windy, rainy Netherlands and it gets to me badly sometimes. All I want to do is stuff myself with warm, tasty comfort foods. Good thing to eat - vegetable soup. I made a pumpkin one last week which was less than 100 calories…
  • Are you still cutting calories now you've lost the weight? I find I get really cold if I haven't been eating enough (or getting enough sleep). I've never lost a lot of weight, so not sure if its helpful to you, but I'm fairly thin and being tired and hungry (not neccesarily feeling hungry, just not eating enough throughout…
  • http://www.doyogawithme.com Heaps of free videos for different levels.
  • that the pawns in chess were called prawns. that freddie kruger came out of the toilet when you flushed it (press the button and run lol).
  • 99% honest. I dont log vitamins, spices and sometimes I dont bother with any really low calorie condiments if I know I'm not going to go over on calories. I'm not trying to lose anymore so I dont think it matters so much. Mostly just a matter of time, I'm not wasting my time looking up all sorts of different little things…
  • Can anyone who has made this tell me how many grams of protein powder you are using? Mine has quite a big scoop (35g), and it came out a bit dry. Not sure if too much powder or I just overcooked it? Want to try again as it was still pretty tasty.
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 cup low fat milk. If I really want to save on calories (or I've run out of milk), I'll have it with water, but thats a bit icky. I used to make them in the smoothie maker with fruit, maybe some yoghurt, but that was because I didn't like the taste of the last kind I had and needed to…
  • Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Tried it out today - went for a run this morning and did Ripped in 30 in the afternoon. Wasn't too bad - probably couldn't do it on a gym day though (yet) lol. Feeling quite good tonight, but will take it easy tomorrow. Not something I have time for everyday anyway, but going to try and…
  • I like ALL fruits  My favourites are the summer fruits though - peaches, nectarines, apricots, mangoes, grapes and watermelon. Veggies, well I like most of them too  Pumpkin and brocolli are winners at the moment, but I LOVE a stirfry with a bit of everything. Nothing brings out the flavour of veggies like…
  • Don't do too much too quickly. When I started the 30 day shred, I was quite sore after the first day but decided to do it the next day anyway. BIG MISTAKE!! I could hardly walk for a few days after that. For me it was my quads, which are one of my weakest muscles and all those squats and lunges were a killer. I took a few…
  • I have a 'cheat evening' on Friday nights - its my reward for being good all week and gives me something to look forward to if I get cravings during the week. I generally still try to stay within my calorie allowance (or not too far out), but dont worry about macros or fat or bad carbs. Things change as time goes on…
  • Thanks everyone, some great ideas. Will try to start working them into my daily meal plans. Cutting down on carbs then runs me into the problem of getting enough calories. I need to eat 2000+ most days - I used to fill up the last few hundred calories with chocolate and ice cream but I'm trying hard not to do that any…
  • Hi, welcome to MFP! I'm from Melbourne, but living in Europe at the moment. Hopefully heading home in the next 12 months though! So, wrong time zone, but you're still welcome to add me as a friend :)
