Thank you for the tips. I have a vivofit but I'm sure your tips will help me as well.

yep it does!

Hi there! I'm breastfeeding my second baby! He'll be a year in December. I BF my first for a year too. I absolutely love it but can say I'm looking forward to him weaning to whole milk ;)

MFP use estimates so you will be better off investing in a heart rate monitor (HRM) to get a more accurate calorie burn.

We all know you have to eat to lose. If you want to build lean muscle then you have to consume more protein in your diet and eat nutrient densed foods. Yeah people say a calorie is a calorie but think about it, your body will respond differently to 100 calorie fruit than a 100 calorie processed snack. I think if you truly…

I use a shaker bottle. You can buy them in GNC It helps mix up your milk and protein powder and helps with the clumps without having to pull out a blender or the need for one while out and about.

If I could, I would. However, nowadays its hard to eat that way especially with all of the processed foods. I think the biggest thing is to eat whole foods which would include pretty much the foods on the Paleo list.

I don't turn my HRM off until my heartrate has gone down. You're still burning more calories when your heart is up than when its at your normal resting heartrate. And I do record those!

You may want to put A LOT of ice in your water. When I took hot yoga, my water got really warm and then I notice that the regulars had ice in their water bottles...have fun!

The crazy thing is that I didn't bring it up - someone else did. But he prob did feel a little guilty. That's why I try to keep things to myself so I won't put my opinions or actions on others (if that makes sense :))

Both are important - the difference between the two is that with cardio you burn calories as you're doing to exercises but with weightlifting you can potentially burn calories long after workout has finished because your body is repairing your muscles. With weightlifting you breakdown the muscle tissues and as they rebuild…
-
No because you need your protein throughout the day and even on your rest days because your muscles are still recovering and need the protein to repair.

I have a pair but I only lift in them because it helps me be more aware of the placement of my feet/weight for squatting and other leg workouts. I haven't gotten the nerve to run in them because you have to run on the balls of your feet and that's totally different than running in cushioned sneakers. Since its getting…

I have a flat digital scale and you just put your food on it and measure!

I've read something similar before that if you want to build lean muscle, you should eat at least a gram of protein per pound. The problem is its hard to get enough protein especially foods with alot of protein and trying to watch calorie intake.

Yeah the girls on the black team are not going to last really long but I know this - if the Red team lose another weigh-in, Kaylee is going home.....
-
Yes, in science that's correct but you have to take in account the food you eat as well, so you can burn 3500 but you may only net 2300 if you eat at least 1200. If you're working out that much, you definitely need your energy ---> food.

Are you weight training? Exercises like squats, lunges, and different other leg workouts can really help minimize cellulite.

I think it also depends on your HRM. I heard the wrist HRM may not give you as accurate a reading as one with the chest strap. So that may be a reason it was so high.
-
I teach BP and have almost burned 800 in one class but then again I am talking the whole time. But your burn is completely dependent on how hard you push yourself. If you challenge yourself with heavier weights you'll burn more. The best thing is you're toning and building muscle so you'll be burning all day and the next…

lol! Too funny but we both love our HRM with the chest strap!!!

I have a HRM with the chest strap and I love it because it gives you a continuous reading of your heart rate as oppose to the wrist watch only where you have to almost stop what you are doing to test your heart rate at that moment. Also, I've heard of a lot of inaccuracies with the wrist watch compared to that with the…

sounds yummy...I love making things from scratch!

An elliptical for morning cardio!

I'm like you. I don't buy or drink milk like I used to but I do eat cheese but not as much as I used to either. There's some validity to this topic. There are a lot of lactose intolerent people out there including me. You don't need milk to get calcium - you can get it from other sources like leafy green vegetables.

When I trained for a 5K, I just googled "train for 5K" and found a plan that had what I should run on which days normally Sundays were the longest days. My goal was to run it without stopping and I did! Good luck!

Unfortunately, we can't spot reduce. You would just have to continue on your weightloss journey. You have to work at decreasing your entire bodyfat and that happens through eating the healthy foods, strength training, and cardio.
