  • I did not feel better until I went completely grain free. Sometimes the other grains can bother you as much as those with "gluten". FYI - ALL grains, including rice and corn, contain gluten. The FDA does not recognize their strains as they recognize those in wheat, rye, and barley. It does not mean that if you see "gluten…
  • Mine did not survive. I have weight loss surgery and the surgeon told me up front (in front of my spouse) that it would probably kill the marriage. He wanted me to be aware of that up front. Let me be clear - The weight loss did not kill the marriage. The marriage did die, however. Counseling could help. I wish you luck.
  • I am on day 4 as well. This is my first Whole30. I am also a Gastric Bypass patient, 13 years post op. I have had to adjust because I just can't eat that much at one time. So, I spread it out a little. I really don't have any choice with that. My inflammation in my hands is almost gone. So, I am very happy about that. I…
  • If you have a sweet tooth, then try the shake (vanilla) with almond milk, sugar free butterscotch pudding mix (1 T), 2 t PB2, and ice. Blend and enjoy!! Tastes just like a Butterfinger!
  • What a wealth of information and support. I am calling my doctor. Thank you!!
  • Symptoms include - Fatigue Used to have very messed up periods but had a hysterectomy in March to deal with that Fatigue Fatigue Weight issues Fatigue I know my life seems busy. And, I agree, it is very busy. However, I have always done well at this pace and it just seems to have changed in the last year. I went to help…
  • I weigh in every day. But, I have a great reason for it. My nutritionist explained that if you are trying to determine if your body is reacting to certain foods then you must track everything you eat. If you are eating only what your body likes, you should see the scale go down every morning. You get on it after your first…
  • Do you have any food intollerances? If you do and you are increasing those foods with your diet (like whole grains) then you are setting off your immune system. It will not be as strong and you will be susceptible to viruses. Might want to check that.
  • I am a licensed Insurance Agent for Life and Health and also am a Payroll Specialist with Netchex. We are a comprehensive firm that combines payroll with benefits. I am also a ViSalus Promoter - LOVE IT! I also work part-time for a law firm doing their business management. I also sell cheesecakes to whoever wants to buy…
  • Gluten becomes a neurotoxin when we don't digest it properly. If you are sensitive to it, you probably should not go back and add it in. I would consider that bad advice.
  • I have never personally tried it, but I watched two women at Carabba's about a month ago sprinkling it on their oversized portions of italian food covered in alfredo sauce. I almost wet myself laughing over that one... REALLY??? And, did I mention, they were having high calorie cocktails with it? If you are going to…
  • I LOVE food, too. But, let's be real! We are human and will fall off the wagon periodically. What builds character is getting back up and starting again. I went on vacation in March and gained 11 pounds in 4 days. So, count yourself lucky it was only 8. It's behind you and doesn't have to define what you do now!
  • I do Body By Vi and have for about 5 months now. The nutrition is top notch. I am a post gastric bypass patient and my nutritionist said it was the best (out of what I showed him) for me. I need a liquid form because of my absorption issues. He does NOT recommend Isagenix. Not sure why, but he said no to that one and…
  • Welcome! I could use some more friends to support me as well. I am going to hit you up with a friend request..
  • ViSalus has the best one. It tastes like cake batter, then you can add stuff to it. They have flavor packets ranging from chocolate to peach. My favorite is a Butterfinger shake. It has almond milk, Vi Shape Shake Mix, peanut butter, sugar free butterscotch pudding mix, and a choco flavor packet. It tastes just like the…
  • When I read this comment, I immediately thought - cut the shake after your workouts. It might be too much. When I had that issue and was running half marathons, I switched from a full-blown shake to just a glass of milk, or chocolate milk. Not everyone needs a full shake after a workout. Worth a shot... But, I am no expert!
  • I use ViSalus stuff. It helps - It is NOT a solution. The main goal is to make the permanent changes that will last. I have trouble eating enough (post gastric bypass) so the shakes help with that. And, they taste yummy. I am very picky about that. You can call me a food snob :) I have a ton of free sample stuff. If you…
  • All grains have gluten. It might be a different genome of gluten, but true gluten free diets must cut out ALL grains including corn. The FDA allows products to be labeled gluten-free even if they have rice or corn in them. Scientifically speaking, this is an untrue label. The FDA only recognizes some of the genomes of…
  • Sugar Land!!
  • I am in for the support! Let's do this! I want to lose 20 pounds by Christmas. Been trying since March and the scale has not moved a bit! Very frustrated. Having my thyroid and hormones checked soon, I think. I have never had this problem before!
  • My three little girls. I can't let them down. And, now I have a new hubby who has an obese daughter. I was once an obese daughter. I know how it feels... So, she is a new motivation for me!
  • Don't give up!! It also sounds like you might need to have your hormones and thyroid checked. Just a thought! If you can balance out the moods and personality swings it will make sticking to a regimine a little easier.
  • That's a tough one!! Keep it smart... Even their salad dressing is packed with fat and calories. If you can keep away from that, limit the breadsticks, and stay away from any and all pastas then you are good. My hubby and I ALWAYS split our food there. The portions are plenty for that!!
  • I would not spend the day with someone who cannot be honest. I value that highly! Imagine what she might do when faced with a situation surrounding your friendship? She obviously cannot be counted on. Sometimes we have to carve the cancer out of our lives. This one needs to go...
  • Since when is it the government's problem (CPS) what we feed our kids? That is just absurd!
  • OK - I must speak up! I was a very overweight child. My parents did everything they could. My mother is an RN and knows what to feed her children. I hate to hear people make such generalizations about every person out there. We don't fall into the same mold. I have learned over the years that I have a serious food…
  • I use ViSalus shake mix and i put it in a lot of things besides shakes. It tastes like cake batter, so I put it in my pancakes (makes a killer protein pancake!), waffles, a no-bake protein cookie, etc. The easiest thing for me is to mix it with OJ in a shaker cup during the day. It tastes like an Orange Julius - remember…
  • Be careful with the whole grains. They are famous for causing IBS or other gut issues. Watch carefully how your gut reacts to them. If you feel ok when eating it, then great! If not, adjust...
  • Tai Bo is actually pretty good. There is an 8-min video that's a good way to get started and not too overwhelming. Protein shakes - ViSalus Vi Shape Shake Mix! It's the absolute tastiest! I can give you more info if you want to message me about it. Or just google it to get more info! It's amazing stuff!
  • I have heard from some of my workout buddies that it is the quickest way to lose weight. Converting from the program back to a normal diet is tricky, though. Changing habits long-term is important with any plan.
