And in our household you can add 3 birthdays in December too when we go out to eat. Not a very good month for us at all. :(

Nope, not my kind of read. Not a prude, just dont fancy it.

I agree with this too. Still eating everything I always have just in moderation and at a 20% deficit from my TDEE. Thats working for me. Dont want to cut anything out and end up craving it.

What a brilliant post. Thanks for this and I totally agree. I attended a very small. cheap, local gym in a village I lived near many years ago and it was not doing anything at all to aid weight loss. Speaking to the gym owner he said to me that if I wanted to lose weight I should be concentrating more on calorific intake…

In and already past half way there. 5 cups down, 3 to go. Gonna go way past that before the the day is out :)

That 1200 is a minimum net amount. i.e if you eat 1200 calories in a day and then exercise burning off 300 you would only net 900 which the body cannot function on. If you know you are likely to burn say 500 calories then eat 1700 that day so that you actually net the 1200 at the end of it. Alternatively, once you have…

I have a take away pizza every friday (well half of one anyway) and there is no nutritional info at the shop for it so I too have used the closest I can find for Pizza Hut as I know thier pizzas are extremely high in calories so it cant be too far off. As this is a regular thing I will work the rest of my meals for the day…

Thank you for your replies. Great advice from both of you. Skyeliz, I was contemplating increasing to 1450 after I went offline yesterday evening and your reply has reaffirmed that decision. You are right, I have to be patient now although that is very hard when you are sooooo close to your goal. I am stubborn, I quit the…

PIZZA!!! Once a week and make sure I stay within my calories as much as possible on that day.

Cats all the way. We have one Jack Russell (all mouth) and 4 adult cats and 2 kittens (not the kittens of any of our cats as we ALWAYS have them "done" and these two little boys will be "done" at about 5-6 months as soon as the vet says its ok.

The reason I hate tom so much (although I have the merina I still get a little visit) is because whenever it visits my appetite sky rockets and although I have tried drinking even more water/sqaush to suppress it invariably food is the only thing that stops those hunger pangs and that noisy growling tummy. Obviously this…

Yes, you will definitely see it if you are already within you range. I was 140lb and ideally want to be 120-126lb. So far I have lost 6lb and already there is a big difference. That spare tyre has now gone from being motorcycle tyre down to a racing pushbike size tyre only when I sit down. I could not do up my size 10 (UK)…

^^ I agree with this one.

PIZZA!!! Every Friday, but I do try to ensure that it does fit into my calorie quota for the day by adding more exercise if I have to so that I have the extra calories to play with :)

Being new to MFP I am still learning the language. Please can you tell me what NSV stands for as I keep seeing it and cannot work it out. Thanks :)

My 18 year old son decided one day he didnt want mayo or salad cream and rummaged through the different dressings in my fridge. He came across the mint sauce that we would have on roast lamb. That seemed rather strange but was absolutely delicious. Only vinegar and mint so virtually no calories at all.

I quit 21 weeks ago cold turkey after reading The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. I also regularly visit the facebook page for WhyQuit.com and their forum as they are a really great place to get education regarding the nicotine addiction and how to quit it. A lot of people have trouble quitting as they are not in…

I am 5'3". I was 140lb around 4 weeks ago. I am currently at 133 and aiming for around 125 myself (but would not complain if it was a little less like 119 which would be my minimum). When I started on MFP I did not eat back my exercise calories as I did not realise I was supposed to. The Weight was very very slow to move…

Im 5' 3" and currently 133.5lb. Did go up to 144lb as I gained a little when I quit smoking 5 months ago. Most of the excess I gained in the year preceading my quit. My goal is ideally 126lb as thats right in the middle of my BMI range, but if I can eventually get a little more off...maybe to 120lb then that would be fine…

I weigh myself every morning first thing and every night just before getting into bed and record this for my own records but only update it on MFP when I have lost anything. I have noticed weekly pattern. We have pizza on a friday night for dinner and this obviously makes me retain some water, so my saturday and sunday…

Sorry, I cant advise you on this one, but I am having the same problem as you with my protein being over nearly every day, so I will be very interested in whatever advice is given to your question.

I have just had my third merina fitted so thats 10 years now. Have gained and lost weight depending on how I eat and my metabolism. Recently gained a little extra as I quit smoking but dropped that quite easily. Its the other stone (14lb) I gained in the year prior to the quit that I am fighting with right now, but is…
