Fiber keeps you full, lowers colesteral, is very important for health, keep your water intake up very important! I just added to my my diet to help, it wont help on its own but will help with proper diet and excersise

Actually \I am a prime example of this I used to eat about 800 calories a day and was not fat but holding on to a few extra, when i lost the MOST wieght i was eatting about 2500 cal a day, because the metabolism slows down and when you start eatting a little more food it holds on to it. This stament comes out of concern, perhaps not said delicatly, this was said to me when i was annorexic and i didnt even notice i was getting so thin. according to a fitness site I burn 2500-2700 calories a day (with work outs) so I am eatting 1800 (deficit of 700) calories a day everyday, but with this new job i am starving by the end of the night so i eat my meal and i am usually at 2000 calories

I tend to add 200 quick add calories to make up for bites of my kids food or a few bites when I make food to taste it. sometimes its because its not listed and i know how many calories are in it.
