Im equal parts jealous AND proud of you! Congratulations!

Popcorn (air popper) with salt and a touch of butter. Popcorn is my go to snack for the fiber. Also when I need to 'graze' e.g. still hungry because I ate too fast, pickles are great. 5 calories a pickle and 2 normally hold me over between meals. Tomatoes (eaten like an apple) also get me through the rough spots.

Amazing! Keep going!

I reward myself with 'relevant' rewards: -lost 10 lbs? I get to sign up for a new class! -lost 20 lbs? buy some winter running clothes so I can start jogging. -I've been running for a full month? Well clearly I need a reward! How about a HRM so I can watch myself get better! Hope this helps!

Everyone is doing fantastic! SW: 189 CW at end of week 1: 185.5 Don't be too jealous, I've been stalled at 189 for almost a month!

Me too! From Windsor, but studying in Ottawa :)

Haha, thanks to all for your lovely Canadian characteristics / stereotypes! A) we do celebrate thanksgiving, but it isn't coupled with a) football and b) shopping, which 1000 x the event (and the eating). B) Fun fact: the original Thanksgiving day is still celebrated in Canada. The American Thanksgiving was moved to…

I'm a beginner runner as well - I can only do about 2.5km of straight running and then alternating running with walking. I have my first 5km scheduled for February 13, 2013 and my first 10km May 26! Can we please make this a group to keep better track of everyone's progress? Thanks!

Hi all! My name's Kaitlyn and I'm a university student currently studying in the caribbean :) But I'm originally from Windsor, ON and study in Ottawa, ON, Canada. I hope to lose 15 lbs from 189 to 175. My favourite food is PIZZA HUT. My favourite telly's are Once Upon A Time, The Big Bang Theory and Dollhouse. Looking…

I had originally planned on buying myself a pair of small diamond earrings, but the more I think about it, the more I want 'exercise / healthy lifestyle' rewards (it just makes sense, right?). So I'm going to splurge on dance / yoga / swim classes and time with a personal trainer, once I build up my endurance AND hit 1/2…

CW: 189lbs Goal Weight: 175lbs I'm also doing 30DS so I don't know how realistic this goal is, since the program tones and builds muscle, but we'll see!

I would bring a skipping (jump) rope. It's easy cardio, something you can sneak away quietly and do, something you can do for small increments all day, and you can do it anywhere on a ground floor / cramped space. No gym required! If you're looking for strength training, bring some dumbbells, (I have no idea how to use…

Xanem: From your post, it's clear what you're being: lazy. Yes, I'm being a b*tch. But it's true. You're making excuses. You're not being strong. You're giving in, because it's easier than working for what you want. I have the same problem as you do: chocolate. chocolate. MORE CHOCOLATE. And sometimes I lose. But most…

This has been great! It's incredibly balanced, and reminds us of the importance of overall goals, and different aspects of being healthy (and happy!) Bookmarked!

Personally, as a frequent donor (giving my 10th time tomorrow, and I'm only 21), eat. EAT. Do not even count your calories. Yes, you can do it on a normal 1200 calorie day. Do I recommend it? Absolutely not. Although you may be fine giving, you also may not be. This is your first time. I can tell you I burn a TON more…

My story is a little bit odd, as well: This summer, I was working as a canoe instructor (re: thought I was being active) and I stumbled upon this site out of boredom. For fun, I decided to log that day's worth of food just to see how much I was eating (I very clearly remember enjoying scrumptious plain ruffles and onion…

For me, I ALWAYS have 5 peanut M&M's or a ferrero roche ball everyday! I find that if I know its available and already counted, I don't feel deprived, or get that 'panicky' sense. The best part is I usually skip them 2 or 3 times a week anyways! It also reduces my desire for other cheat foods... My mentality is 'if i want…

Me too!

Because this is my first ever attempt at dieting, I am not used to the relatively huge reduction of calories (1000) so for the first 3 days I ate them back (and more). I feel like once my body adjusts I will determine on a day to day basis (e.g. HOW much I work out and IF I am hungry) how many more additional calories I…

Hi! Congratulations on taking the first step! I also had the same problem - if you look at my first day of food recording (I hadn't started dieting, just wrote down what I ate that day) it is a little bit over the top! I hope we can encourage each other and both reach our goals! Kaitie

HI! I'm just starting as well and looking for motivation. It's hard to keep motivated alone, and I find that when I try to diet with friends or family, it just never works out! I hope we both reach our goals and feel free to motivate me, or let me know if you need some as well!
