Thank you guys all so much for your support and for sharing your stories! :D

I'm doing heavy lifting 2-3 times a week for about half and hour/forty-five minutes, and about 20-25 minutes of interval training on the elliptical. I'm trying to wean off of the elliptical and start doing HIIT on the track.

Where can one find this range of macros? (low end-high end)? All of this is so interesting! How is the scale treating you? More importantly, how are your clothes fitting you?

It's great as a leave in conditioner! Makes my hair super soft and manageable. ;)

Bump

Hahaha! Love this.

I did body pump for a long time (and then my gym stopped offering it) but it's so much fun. That being said, it's really not the same as lifting heavy. It's more about endurance than strength training. It's a great work out, but I would also look into some weight lifting guides (New Rules of Lifting for Women), too. :)

I'm in! It'll be a Hanukkah/X-Mas miracle!

You are fully aware that situation is different and you wouldn't be asking if you weren't . In the OP's situation the gaze was directed at an individual. In your circumstance someone else is merely existing. If you would like to continue this conversation please feel free to message me because this is no longer the place…

This is not correct. The man in this situation is creating a hostile environment in this gym by staring at the women--which can be considered unwanted sexual attention depending on the actual gaze. If this woman and the others in the gym are identifying his attention as undesired and "icky" and if they feel unsafe they are…

I can't believe this misogyny. Leave it to a straight, white guy to tell a woman how to feel with no experience about her own oppression. To the OP: YES. I feel this way--mostly in the weight room where I'm seen as some sort of anomaly. And Plates is right about one thing: you have paid as much as those ogling guys for…

Is it generally accepted that weighing once a week is a good plan?

If you're eating goal is 1500 and you're only eating around 1000, you might be eating too little. Maybe try boosting your calories and really shoot for that 1500. Lots of people have found themselves struggling to lose on very few calories but have started losing when they start to eat more. Also, weight training is really…

Excellent post!

This was EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you all so much! I'm super psyched for my weight lifting session tomorrow! :D

I am a HUGE fan of smoothies for breakfast--and if you add a tablespoon or two of nut butter you can get a good number of calories. I don't know if you're allergic to all nuts, but if you are, sunflower seed butter is an excellent substitute. :) Also, try to find a whole grain bagel with a good amount of fiber, which will…

I think my favorite thing about looking at these pictures (ALL of them) is how in the after pictures you are all just BEAMING and so proud of your progress! No matter if it's 1 lb or 100 lbs, each goal and loss proves your strength and determination. :D

@toaster6 Clearly you don't know very much about eating disorders. ANYONE of ANY WEIGHT can suffer from an eating disorder--not just those considered "too skinny". Those of us with EDs come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. An eating disorder has very LITTLE to do with how much you weigh. I'm in recovery from an eating…

This is not correct. Your BMR is the number of calories your body needs to complete it's basic functions--NOT maintain weight. Many experts do not recommend eating below your BMR.
-
@Dawn: Thank you! How did you start weight training and what does your routine look like now? @Noor: Thank you! I'm looking forward to diving into it!
-
Thank you for your reply! I am definitely looking into weight training (I've done body pump in the past but my gym no longer offers it. I'm going to read NWGtWL and try the Chalean Extreme dvds). I'm just curious whether eating at a cut of TDEE but above BMR will work without weight training, or is the weight training…

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply, Noor! I should have added that I'm trying to go from 200 lbs to 140 lbs. What percent cut would you recommend?
