Bump. I realise this thread is old, but it gave me so much joy to browse through it for the first time and see ladies like me! So proud of all your progress and wishing you all health and wellness in 2022. Look forward to coming back and posting my progress :) I'm currently 250 lbs, 5'10". Would like to get sub 200 by the…

Honestly, could you be depressed? It manifests in many different ways, but over-sleeping and lethargy are definitely a flag. Something to consider if you've been feeling more stressed out lately. You could be overtraining - exercise is stress after all.

Had friends with severe eating disorders at 6 years old, so no.

My friend was walking to our gym today and some guy yelled at her to " take your fat *kitten* home and put some clothes on Look at the abuse Olympic gold medalist Sarah Robles faces daily. Being overweight is certainly not "glorified" as some here have claimed, at least not in Western society. Fat acceptance is about not…

IIFYM - I make what I want, fit my macros. Clean eating to me is washing my salad <3

Please reread the research and where it says "significantly more". Their energy inputs were the same, so the results are not diet related.

Powerlifting gives me so much joy.

Never let your grip strength limit your deadlift. Use straps, but don't stop training your grip.

I really wouldn't suggest doing resistance training and cardio on the same days if you want to lose fat (Source; Eklund 2016) http://suppversity.blogspot.ca/2016/08/study-quantifies-disadvantage-of-doing.html "Fat mass decreased in all regions in the Different Day-groups, while significant changes in Endurance+Strength and…

Okay partly joking, while genetics are a huge part, what everyone else said is on point. My calves are getting ridiculous, and I honestly think its because I stopped driving. I have been walking everywhere/using transit for several years now.

Could be muscle, water weight, hormonal. How are your clothes fitting now? Weight is really unreliable, I suggest measuring your progress through measurements and pictures. Especially since you said Weight Loss isn't your goal.

Protein is crazy filling:)

....whispers "marriage" A WILD MRA APPEARS
-
Is it because he thinks you guys can't afford a wedding (or that a wedding will be expensive)..... or is it because he doesn't want to marry you? I really don't get it? My husband and I got married for less than $500 and we eloped. A house never came into the question, we just wanted to be together? But if your idea of a…

I did IF for 6+ years, up until last month actually. It really just became habit. I gained weight on it, but that's due to a million reasons. It's definitely not a cure-all or fix-all. It's just another way of eating that for some people effects CICO. I started eating breakfast again and my brain is much happier, and my…

I threw out my scale a long time ago tbh. Seeing it go up or down would change how I felt about my progress. I measure my progress through measurements and photos as my weight doesn't change much but I lose inches etc
-
How long are you talking plateauing here? Are you strength training, taking pictures, measurements? What does "eating right" mean to you? What does being active look like to you? What are your workouts like? Do you workout and then drive everywhere and sit at a desk all day? So many unanswered questions, it's really hard…

Honestly, strong curves saved my life, taught me how to lift, how to change my body, and helped me recover from an eating disorder that begun by fasting to lose weight. I can't recommend it enough, it's a great place to start your journey! It's very scientifically informative. You seem bright, you will do well no matter…

Honestly, daily gym visits at 500 calories sounds like a disaster. My trainer would shoot me in the foot if I ate less than 1800-1900 calories on a cut. Its just unnecessarily extreme. I did 5:2 in the past when my eating was quite disordered and I was very unknowledgeable about how the human body works, so I'm not judging…

I am so proud of you for figuring this out!!!!!! It took me way too long, too. Hugs!!!!
-
Strong Curves taught me how to lift. It's a book, and a great place to begin, it's also oriented for women - which is nice for a change:)
-
Burpees are way too hard on my joints, but walkouts are a nice alternative. Just make sure you don't swivel your hips throughout the movement. Bodyweight squats are a classic.

Tbh I think it's best raw. Cooked spinach is rough, lol.
-
Why not shoot for healthy lifestyle habits instead, that are small, attainable goals and can last long term instead of a short term cure-all fix-all same-size-fits-all for temporary weight loss?
-
Let's just start with the fact that it "recommends" 500 calories for everyone - regardless of age, height, activity, weight, medical concerns, etc... Such extreme restriction is simply unnecessary. For most people, fad diets will get cause them to lose lots of water weight, and encourage disordered eating.

Yesssssss!!!!!!

AYYYYYYYYYYYYYY KILLING IT!!!!!!!!!!!! GIRL YOU SHREDDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly another pair of eyes is priceless. If you don't have a trainer around to check your form, video yourself and get some second opinions from reputable sources :) I find it helpful to actually have someone watching me while I lift, though, as my form can slip without me noticing. I work out at a gym that has…
