  • I love wine and have had major issues with weight loss. Even when I restrict my calories to accommodate a wine night I find it completely stops any weight loss all together. I did extensive research on this and this is what I learned: Your liver is responsible for burning fat. Your liver is also responsible for processing…
  • I'm sure it's just water weight. I gained 6 pounds this week and I was way under my calories and I worked out everyday. When I work out (lifting weights) I gain a few pounds while I am sore. I guess my body holds on to water to repair itself. Also, wine will put up to 5 pounds on the scale for a few days. Go workout and…
  • I have a 13 month year old and I have now lost 35 lbsof my baby weight. I have another 10 to go. I had a really difficult time losing this weight, but what worked for me was cutting out sugar completely. I was staying under 1200 calories but not losing. It wasnt how many calories I was eating, but what kind. Everyone has a…
  • Good point!
  • I make a crock pot full every week. It's very good for you but not too low in calories, not like other soups. But I can't even finish a bowl of split pea soup and it keeps me full for several hours.
  • Our bodies tend to plateau. I read an article on the Oprah website that said we need to stop dieting for about a month after a lot of weight loss to let our bodies establish a new set weight. During that month you still watch what you eat of cours, you just don't count each calorie like you were before. After a month,…
  • I read an interesting article on oprah.com that said you need to take a break from your diet and workout routine when you platue for a few weeks, let your body identify the new weight as it's set weight and then start up again. This doesn't mean eat whatever you want, but stop "trying" so hard. Eat healthy, eat good…
  • I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if all of the calories that are in each gram of protien you eat included in the daily calorie total? If so, yes. And don't worry about being over on protien. Its a good thing. I changed my settings on MFP to 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protien. I am usually required to…
  • Sounds right. you can test it by using other websites. You're burning between 1500 and 2000 cals a day probably but if you told MFP you want to lose 2 lbs a week then you need a 7000 calorie deficit a week which means 1000 a day. so if you were burning at most 2000 a day at rest, subtract 1000 for your daily deficit and…
  • 100 is too low. You need to stay at 1200. I have been working out so hard...running 5 miles a day, gym for 1.5 hours a day, and workout videos a few times a week. I am losing so slow and I think it's because I am eating most of my calories. Yes, this site tells you to eat them but I disagree. You really need to play around…
  • I have had planter faccitis for a botu 8 monthsnow. This video doesnt seem to bother it much though. My feet hurt really bad after a long run. Do they hurt most in the morning when you get out of bed? Thats the true indicator of planter faccitis. There are shoes that have better arch support than others, and those are what…
  • For everyone saying that it gave too high of a daily calorie goal, did you enter in any excersise for that day? On MFP if you enter in your goal excersise into your settings, it does not effect your daily calorie goal. I believe it is only there to remind you. Try deleting all your excersise goals and see - the daily…
  • Thank you for sharing. That's an awesom tool.
  • In my opinion, if you want to see results you need to do an hour of cardio a day. I do this video then a 1 hour (5 mile) run. And 3 days a week I do 1.5 hours of weight lifting at the gym in addition to 30 min eliptical and a 5 mile run in the mornng. And I am barely seeing results. Everybody is different though. Maybe I…

  • I just read this article, (I wish I could find it for you) that says that you need to go off your diet every now and then while your body establishes a new set weight. After you do that for a month or so, go back on your diet and you should start losing again. It's the same reason your body stops building muscle after…
  • This is how I look at it: You want to be skinny, that want is never going to go away. So, you can dedicate this next year to getting there by sacrificing food and torturing yourself with excersise, or you can keep puting it off and torturing yourself with guilt and shame because you are not content with your current…
  • Unless you eat Albacore Tuna plain, I don't find it a helathy food. Once you add the mayo and the bread for the sandwich it's suddenly high in fat and carbs. Not to mention it's high in Mercury. You're only supposed to have it once or twice a week because of that. If you're wanting to eat it just for the fatty acids, take…
  • I think you should llisten to your body. If you are not hungry to eat more than don't. Who cares what MFP or any other expert says about eating a minimum of 1200 calories. They also say not to exceeed certain limits and we have no problem breaking that rule everyday. I think for someone who eats too much, getting in the…
  • There are 670 in the one fom Costco.
  • I just ordered that video and planned on starting it tomorrow. I can only get to the gym 3 days a weeks so I need something I can do at home the 4 other days. I will do this in addition to a 4 -5 mile run each day. I really hope to see results. I feel like I have been working really hard at both diet and excersise and see…
  • Excersise creates endorphins which will help you get through the anxiety of starting college.
  • Ramen noodles are loaded in simple carbs. They are nothing but starch. They spike your glucose level super high and and body is forced to overcompensate thus converting most of those carbs into fat stores. Ramen noodles don't provide you with any nutrients or energy either so you would have been hungry in an hour (crash…
  • I'm glad someone else said it. Haha..I just hade a baby and I remember at 5 months pregnant looking down and not being able to see it. I still can't' but look forward to being able to again soon. lol
  • I believe it. The mind is a very powerful thing.
  • If you look up the indredients in most of the fast food meat the first ingredient is soy. Check out Jack in the Box Taco Meat. I believe it's something like 75% soy.
  • What does BUMP mean?
  • I love the idea of a mommy group. I have a 4 month year oldbaby girl. I have had a difficult time losing weight but a few weeks ago I decided to kick it up a knotch and take up running which has helped shed 5 lbs so far. I go to the gym 3 days a week when her dad has time to help but I needed more than that. The running…
  • I disagree. I was at your hieght/weight and I had to stay under 1200 caloriesin order to loose weight. Most women I know who are thin stay at 1200 when they are trying to lose and 1300/1400 when they are trying to maintain. I usually eat some of my exsercise calories but not all. When I eat them all I gain.
  • What is wrong with Soy? I've never heard anything neative about it before.
