  • Mac and Cheese for sure!
  • A great book to read too is "The Courage to Start" by John (the penguin) Bingham. It's lighthearted and informative. I had taken a lot of time off from running and last fall when I decided to get back into it this book got me the jump-start I needed.
  • For me, some days of the month I just need more energy (a.k.a. food). I seriously feel like I need to eat something every hour. Sometimes nuts or raisins can give you energy. But if you feel tired and feel hungry, listen to your body. You probably need a few more calories. Just make sure they come from things that help…
  • I agree! Trash it! That same thing happened to me. But I had bought a new digital scale and didn't want to toss something I'd just spent money on  What I did was up all my entries x number of pounds, so my goal got bigger but I had still lost the same.
  • My husband tends to let his scruff grow on the weekends and I have to say by Sunday evening I don't want him anywhere near me. lol. It's really scratchy. My daughter complains too. I like the way facial hair looks on most men, but for anything other than looking, I like a clean shavin jaw bone.
  • :drinker: Great job!
  • Ok, I once had a scare with bats and a silly book that I was given talked about the "symbolism" of animals and it helped me to think about them in a different way. I just did a quick search in Internet and here is what Spiders "symbolize" - Master Weaver, Weaver of the Web of Fate, Wisdom, Creativity, Divine Inspiration,…
  • I have an F6 and love it. I think I paid 70 € for it which is like 90 $. It has the chest strap and at first i guess it could bug you, but you get used to it. I bought a little fancier one for my husband and it has a few more bells and wistles, but for me less is more. Also, many machines at the gym will give you readings…
  • ok, i actually printed it out, but i haven't tried it yet. this sunday is the half marathon that i've been preparing for and i'm afraid i will hurt myself. boo hoo, poor me. i sound like a wus, but i will do it after the race. AND banks, what is that about 3 minutes on the treadmill at a, what was it? 6 minute mile pace ?…
  • HITTING THE WALL. I have definately experienced that, and I am working through one right now. Is it boredom? tired? whatever the excuse is, I put on my sneakers and push through it. I find that when I have this attitude with exercise it spreads out into other areas of my life. It's so important to push through the walls in…
  • Good job! :drinker: I totally ditto what you said about this site. I don't post very much either, but I love reading the posts. Some might even say it's an addiction...:blushing: But there is something really special about this site.
  • Thanks for the reminder. I agree 100%
  •
  • Thanks, this is a nice reminder.
  • Thanks for the ideas. I'm about to go to interval training on the treadmill... Maybe I should go to the park instead.
  • What an amazing experience that must have been. Congratulations on accomplishing such an incredible goal. I'm glad you decided to stay on the site and didn't let the negative energy stop the great thing that is MFP.
  • I'm sorry for what happened to you, but I am so happy for you that you've found the strength to pick yourself up and move on to a better place in your life! You go!! And congratulations on your loss!!! Isn't wierd how things make sense when the truth comes out? And the truth always comes out... :flowerforyou: I wish you…
  • Wow, this just happened to me on Saturday! I am training for a half marathon too. I ran an hour and a half, more or less 15 k and that night I thought my head was going to explode. I was expecting my monthly visitor so I attributed it to that. I drank extra water, made sure I ate to make up for the calories I had burned,…
  • I ran in college and got shin splints then and I remember that they were a killer physically and mentally because I wanted to run and couldn't. I am running a lot lately, trying to get ready for a half marathon in three weeks... Yikes that sounds soon. Anyway, I've been following a training schedule and there is always a…
  • I've never tried white tea but I have tried red tea. I like that too.
  • mmmmm sushi
  • Not from the UK, but I live in Madrid.
  • There was a great post about eating before and after work-outs. I'm sure somebody will be able to provide the link. I work out at lunch time. I'll eat a small snack about an hour before working out, and then something high in protein within an hour after working out. Usually a protein bar and lots and lots of water. This…
  • I have really great experience with green tea. I drink a small pot of it in the morning and it makes me feel much better than coffee. I do agree with having less "munchies", and I guess what you mention about stabalizing the blood sugar level makes sense. The only thing is you have to get used to the taste. They told me in…
  • I'm not sure if I ride it. I am training too, but just for a half marathon in April and I've been running a lot more on the treadmill and outside. What I do notice is that my heartrate is way higher when I run on the treadmill. I was thinking that the heat in the gym had something to do with it, but maybe the treadmill…
  • Let's hear it for the pears! :drinker:
  • so cute!
  • I agree with everything that has been said so far, and I will pray for you. I hate confrontation too, but what has helped me in the past is what was suggested earlier: plan out your thoughts and feeling before hand, and pray about that and then as you enter into the conversation just give it up to God. Ask him to guide…
  • I'm there with you in the slow loser department  I've been on this site for nearly two months and I've lost a total of 7 pounds. I am half-way to my goal, which is to be where I was before getting pregnant (135) but what I've already noticed is that I can fit back into almost all of my pants that I was wearing…
