  • I posted in the beginning of my pregnancy but haven't had much time since then to get in here... Hope I can jump in from here. I am 28 weeks along, and so far not much to report. I have two little girls, 6 and 3 and expecting a third... girl. Working on a name, but my husband is Spanish and we live in Spain and so we are…
  • Angrypanda, Congrats on the Little girl! I have two and it's great! I have to admit that a boy this time would be nice, although once I found out I was pregnant I just want the baby to be healthy. I love all the posts from everybody! So fun to read. I am starting my 10th week and so far I seem to be maintaining my weight.…
  • Hi everyone! I'm 8 weeks 1 day with my third baby. I have a six year old daughter and a 3 year old. I am so excited, but impatient, the first trimester always drags for me... I've been on MFP for probably close to three years. Started it after my second daughter was born. It helped me get rid of the extra pounds that I'd…
  • Thanks!
  • www.johnbingham.com Check this guy's web site out. I read his book called The Courage to Start and it got me over my "fear". Good luck, I really like running and think it's a great, cheap, flexible way to burn calories and fat.
  • I totally hear you! I joined the "no weigh" challenge. I did well for the first week and then I cheated. And I feel bad about it. :embarassed: And my mind is playing little tricks on me just like when I quit smoking. It's like the scale is calling me from it's "hiding" place. Although I know where it is. I HID it. I'm not…
  • Yesterday sounds like it was a good day in more ways than one. :flowerforyou:
  • don't think about it for another second. put your sneakers on and just go out the door.
  • Former smoker too. I quit cold turkey and like someone mentioned before, instead of replacing smoking with food, replace it with working out. (it gets sooo much easier when you aren't smoking) Good luck. You'll do it if you want it!!
  • I haven't posted because I am ashamed that on Saturday.... I got on the scale. :frown: And that was after this great revalation on Friday about not getting obsessed... I am a total, total addict. Ok, did I read there are 17 more days left? I guess if I know the end to this I can try to go on. Am I kicked out for cheating?
  • This is a good post. Thanks Banks and thanks Viviakay. I'm wearing my heart monitor tomorrow to see what my true maintenance calories are.
  • I just posted to the non-scale challenge something along this same line. If you spend all your time focusing on what you don't like, how you can't loose weight, you have bad habbits, etc. your holding yourself back. If you spend your energy focusing on your goal you will drive yourself to it. Great post! :flowerforyou:
  • I've already posted today, but I had a NON-SCALE REVALATION, in the showers at the gym. It sounded REALLY cool in my head so let's see if I can spit it out in words to share it... If you step on your scale everyday you are spending a lot of energy focusing on exactly where you are RIGHT NOW. But if you direct your focus…
  • Madrid, Spain but originally from New Hartford, CT, USA!
  • Great job!! Congratulations! :drinker:
  • Thanks banks, That's interesting. I'm 5'7" and (last time I weighed myself) was at 139, only a few pounds away from my goal of 135. Really I'm not unsatisfied with where I am now but still, just one day to see myself at 135. Anywaaaayy, maybe that is why I am always a little over what MFP tells me I should be eating. I eat…
  • still no scale. and still ok with it i guess. pants fit the same, if not even a little looser. but i am consistently a few hundred calories over my limit every day and i want to see if it is going to have any effect. i guess i wouldn't see it for a few weeks anyway, sooooo, fine. i'll wait :grumble: HAVE A GREAT DAY!…
  • Resisting temptation.... Feelin' pretty ok. Go figure...
  • That is a great time! Actually, my motto is on your first race any time is a great time when you cross the finish line. And as for the 5 miles in August, you will do it with no problem. You will probably be able to do more!
  • Congratulations! How exciting! I used www.babyfit.com when I was pregnant and really liked it. They have a calorie counter just like MFP and lots of good tips on amounts to eat, etc. Good luck and enjoy!!
  • Great job Banks! :drinker: That time is awesome!! You should be very proud!
  • good job everyone! I hid the scale in the closet and did not weigh myself all weekend. I also did not log in my foods and I think I was o.k., but sometimes your mind can play tricks on you... Boy did I want to get on the scale to see if I had gained or not, but that is what this is all about. To not be a slave to the evil…
  • This is the post that I found interesting: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/11174-hunger-is-a-good-thing In the past few weeks I started getting really hungry during the whole day and at first I tried to ignore it, eat at my designated times and keep my calories at the level I thought I was supposed to. But then I…
  • That is the way I understand it. It is scary, but in theory it makes sense. These past two weeks I've felt like I was eating WAY too much, but for me it worked. I think your motabolism gets reved up when it sees your body getting good food often during the day. There is a good post, I think it was yesterday about speeding…
  • Not banks, but just did some quick math. I took off the 10% that someone in the other thread said that their trainer said to subtract from what the machines say, and then took the average of your net cals over 7 days and you had 1125 cals average per day. I think that might be too low. I tend to be on the low side too, and…
  • Good luck banks! That time is great, I hope you meet your goal! Looking forward to your victory post on Monday :drinker:
  • Bump Everyone should see that message! It made me cry too. Especially the part about the children.
  • Today was the first day and I got on the scale.... I knew I shouldn't but I was half asleep and did it out of habbit. Ok, that was kind of a lie, I did it out of addiction. Hi, my name is Heather and I am a scale-aholic. This afternoon after work I will hide my scale, take out the batteries or whatever I have to do.
  • I don't know if I can do this. I want to, but just the fact that I'm doubting whether I can or not shows me that I am a TOTAL addict :embarassed: Ok, I have not been logging in foods or exercise in a few weeks. Took some time off, but I still have those last few pounds to make it to my goal. I will get back on track and…
