  • I wish you luck! It depends on where you live, The masters swim team is called "fit swim" at my local YMCA. it is included in membership, they have a coach. It doesnT work well for me because the couch just puts a workout on a board and stands there. Sometimes sn isn't even there. Most of the members seem to do their own…
  • @C4L05 - that is a wonderful story! Keep us posted we can all do a big shout of YIPPIE when you manage 100m non-stop! your story is wonderful. so glad you have conquered the cholorine fear!
  • These are soooo true for me: • you collect swim caps.....green daisy ones. • In the toilet there are swimming books • You go international to increase swimming friends • you critique the way people swim on TV or movies! Just did this the other night! • there is nothing worse than a warm pool. • you can swim longer…
  • Awesome! I am starting next week trying to swim 3 to 4 miles week. Right now it takes me about 45 min to do a mile...25 yard pool at my YMCA. o how I envy the people that have. 50 meter pool available!
  • You look sooooo much more curvy! I am suspicious...no I mean jealous, but super proud of you! Way to go and thanks for the inspiration!
  • Denise and SwimtotheEnd - excellent, just excellent. Yes, I hate most of those things and REALLY hate the paddles and fins that they think they are impressing me. Hellooooo? It isn't impressing me. If you want to impress me - put on a pink mankini already! Now, SwimtotheEnd - you hate, but...me... I LOVE when you swim laps…
  • http://paceclub.speedousa.com/swim_team/users/tricia-highfill ok, ok....I'm slow today - but I've got it figured out....I think.
  • no way. but I've seen several artictles and news programs of people getting logos, etc and getting paid what they think big money at the time to do it. meaning $10,000.....no way. All of them regret it. This lady got one across her forehead. At least Starbucks logo is prettier...…
  • what? what? I have always have short hair, but I use a cap for resistance. That said - who keeps their hair dry? I don't as I dye my hair so I saturate it first - so clorine won't get in, then I put the cap on. I was going to suggest the pony or a braid down your back...but now, I don't know. Good luck whatever you do.
  • I agree. The silence is the best.
  • As a "soft poolie" swimmer I didn't take offense, but seriously PhatAv8r had a point - you were a little bit mean to us. We don't have the choice...we just want to SWIM.
  • ok, swimovate watch worked great! counted my lengths perfectly. As far as calorie burn. Here is the stats: swimovate 520, MFP 581, the excel sheet 485, the http://www.swimmingcalculator.com/swim_calories_calculator.php 670. So I'm going with MFP I think.....close enough!
  • Hey everyone! I just got swimovate watch and trying it out tomorrow(today)....I will report here he close it is to MFP calories...but I try not to consume any of my calories burned, so I really just want to log that I DID exercise, ????
  • same for me - wet my hair in the shower. My brand is Speedo and silicone. Green Daisy one - in case you want to look like me here is the link. $12.95 at Amazon. There are other fun colors - but green is my favorite color - so there you go! LOL It fits VERY tight - I typically have a crease on my skin when I'm done…
  • I swim about 4 times a week. ANYONE that wants to add me...please do. I did not swim for 20 years, started again in September 2012. I know can swim a mile straight sand I am starting to do flip turns again.
  • I'm 50 and I first I was thinking "done, done, done...what have I NEVER?"...then this. Thanks. I have never watch ANY Star Wars anything....my husband doesn't know this...I've never told him.

  • o he is so cute. He is for sure part mastif, bull mastiff, and I'd guess german shepard too.
  • True! That too! Alone and quiet and no socializing.
  • O looks right up my alley as far as something I like to eat! Honestly sometimes I think I am a vegan at heart. Looks so yummy! Thanks for the background info and the recipe!
  • I swim laps alone. I push myself by the clock and I go to myswimplan and generate a workout. I prefer alone as I do not have interest in competing. I also like the quiet. I do aquacize though and that is with a group.
  • I'd go with the maple....raspberry to me sounds yuk. I used to be a member of recipe.com but I forget my password...check that out - it is free and you can search for recipes with ingredients you have.
  • I found the maple syrup recipe and edited above. I'd do the wild rice. so much more pretty to look at....but then your girlfriend probs just looking at you. LOL
  • My husband loves it just simple. I use Ken's or Lawrey's honey terryaki 30 minute marinade. If you don't have that in the house. A little honey and terryaki. Grill it and it carmalizes and tastes yum. what you making with the salmon? edited. I see you have maple syrup. hang on...here is what I had - but only 2 tablespoons…
  • I work a full time job so I have been going 2 times a week for sure, but I try to go 3-4 days total. I'm too lazy to get up early in the morning to swim, and I have commitments the other nights.
  • The real question is what do you want to achieve? Speed? Fitness? I read about this stroke too, but I haven't changed my stroke because I think my tried and true freestyle works just fine. I'm not competing against anyone, and I just want an overall good workout.
  • My brother has a Swimovate...he uses it to train ironman. He loves it and says I would too...but as far as HRM I don't know what to recommened. He says swimovate is very accurate as far as counting laps and calorie burn calcs. This reminded me I'm putting on my Christmas wish - list and if I don't get it will be my 50 lb…
