Been down that road and just getting back on MFP after 9 months away. For me, I need accountability and it's a forever journey. Frustrating at times but better than the akternative

You sound like so many in MFP....all in and then losing interest. Great thing is you're back motivated! My issue is not losing interest as much as my lifestyle and entertaining customers knocks me off track for periods of time. You can add me if you wish.

Had severe shin splints when playing football, both in high school and college and there are some exercises you can do......any sports trainer can assist in doing. Most are a form of stretching ie trainer had weights on front of my feet and having me stretch forward and upward(something similar to a lunge). Rest is…

Certainly not a Doctor, but weight loss depends on calories lost in day, so doubt it matters when you consume. My guess is the advice was given based on you letting your food digest before you lay down to sleep. When not entertaining, I try and eat between 4 & 5 pm .and it's amazing how good I feel when climbing into bed.

Due to high stress job, I was prescribed clonazapam for nerves, anxiety, and depression and put on weight even though working out daily. Discussed with scientist in pharmaceutical industry and he claimed weight wasn't directly related to drug itself; rather, adjustments our body made ie I wasn'tt as nervous, so tended to…

Costco Turkey Burger (Kirkland Signature) is over 5 ounces, just a bit over 200 calories per portion, and 34 grams of protein. Grfilled up with all the fixings, lettuce, tomato etc should be a meal for him without too many calories

Don't know all the medical issues about bulking but I'm in gym where there's 8-9 ladies who lift competitively. No doubt they show some size when actual lifting, but after done and showered and walking through the gym......you'd never know any of them lift heavy weights. Just don't believe you ladies can bulk like men

Thought from a guy whose wife had six children and she now has the same issue with stomach............we love our wives. We sure as heck have our warts

Several have already mentioned but for the money, you can't beat the Polar FT4 with Chest strap. Inexpensive, accurate and if working in gym will sinc with many of the elliptical machines and treadmills to give readouts on screen. Versatile enough to wear in the pool although I found it does shorten life cycle

If ou truly have low T, you will be hard pressed to see any visible results until getting those levels up. Spent year lifting with buddy who had that issue and once resolve, the results are becoming noticeable. Some great advice on this thread from some people lifting but I always advise people new to lifting to get with a…

Best wisdom is to get started doing something active, no matter how small it might seem. Even as a former high level athlete, I found it hard the first few weeks I started this journey several years ago, but it gets easier and motivating each little success. Good luck on your journey!

Are you serious? I feel lousy when overweight and not able to do the things I'd like to be able to do. Years beyond the sexy part, but I would like to be able to chase both my grandchildren and someday great grandchildren around the yard

Reading these posts, I'm intrigued but not surprised by how many are under 30 years old.....a few , actually under 20. Take it from an old guy(54), that what people think of you becomes less and less important as you mature and especially as you fiind success in your life. I've been called many names in my life and it's…

If those are before and after pictures, I guarantee you people have noticed. Your gut is completely gone. Good job!

anyone feel free to add me as doctor says I need to lose 65 pounds. Work out daily, but do need some encouragement in keeping my food in check

start small but do something, even if getting out and walking in a park with a friend etc. Eat one less snack per day or even every two days. You'll eventually get back in the groove.....promise :)

we've all been there at one time or another in this journey. The best advice I can give is eat the elephant a little at a time instead of going back in as hard as you can. Perhaps, eliminating one snack you are sneaking or perhaps a walk at lunch to begin getting back in the groove. The first step towards getting back on…

First thing is determining how important a healthy lifestyle is to you personally. I routinely put in 60 plus hours with office and travel and know that a healthy life(both excercise and eating) is critical for my success. Out of bed and into gym every morning no matter what by 5 am. After 25 years, guess it has become a…

Have you tried the "Cheater liftt" which is found on machines in many gyms? Starts with your own weight and you gradually reduce to where you could easily do 45-100 on your own. Probably would work up to this in 90 days......I did

Eat Oatmeal most mornings and the sky is the limit to what you can do to liven it up, while remaining healthy. Easy start is honey, peanut butter, cinnamon and bananas; however, i've used almost every kind of fresh fruit(lot of blueberries) and also a variety of nuts

Burn out is not unusual; especially if doing high intensity, then taking some time off. I'd suggest starting back slow with something as simple as some walking, bicycle etc. The good feeling usually brings the motivation back fairly quickly
