  • Hi lovely ladies. I decided to come back to MFP. Not sure if I will be posting here on the community board as much as old-times, but thought I'd pop in and say hi. I am on vacation for the month of July and need to get back on the "healty.eating.track". Nice to still see many familiar names/faces. Renny
  • Hello lovely ladies. Happy New Year to all of you. Welcome newbies. I've been around a long time (since 2009). Thank you so much Barbie for keeping this forum going for many many years. I was MIA for a while, and can't promise to keep up with all of you on the forum this year either. I am planning on slowing down from…
  • Celebrating our youngest 2 bdays today (33 and 31). It was a good day where the girls took over breakfast without any hesitation while I've been down and out with the flu, DH had already cooked pancakes and bacon, son got the kiddies in line and SIL got some electrical problems solved. One other son came in by Skype. No…
  • Janetr - you look awesome! You are an inspiration. Thanks for posting the pictures. I see Pip had her surgery and is on the mend. Good going! Other than that I can say that I have been trying to catch up with all of you. So, bear with me. Today I was busy with financial stuff. We are in the process of deciding when I will…
  • Alison - I think that is an awesome idea. Long weekend here with Labour Day tomorrow. I think it's the same in the States. I am working on some bookkeeping because DH's fiscal year end was August 31. Always a lot of work for me, which I spread over many weekends, because I hold a full time job elsewhere. Weight is holding…
  • Does anyone know who Toni Hoy is on this forum? I cannot remember her MFP handle. She is the one who wrote" Second Time Foster Child." I want to get in touch with her. Please message me privately instead of on this forum, because I don't always have time to be on this forum. Thanks in advance. Renny
  • I think checking into this forum is really important. I know some of you have not felt like it and that is okay. I know I keep coming back. And whether we read everyone's post or not, if anything, we know that there are people who care. So, just keep showing up. You exist. You are important. You matter. Much love, Renny…
  • :# I have no idea what you have all been up to, so I am just jumping in. I made a shrimp curry dish tonight with fresh herbs from our garden. It was awesome. My day has been a lazy one. Which is what I intended it to be. Nothing pressing and nobody pressuring. Just the way I like it. DH has been working on some electrical…
  • You're a fake and spam. You may wish to stop trolling.
  • <3 Good afternoon, lovely ladies. I think I have read all the posts since I checked in the other day. @tonithewriter - Thank you for your posts, Toni and welcome to this forum. I checked on the book you wrote and found it was available on Kobo, which is the ereader I use. I also intend to read the court decision. You will…
  • Before I read all 146 new posts since I last logged in, I will just say that I am checking in to say hi. Hope everyone is doing okay and everyone's body parts, as well as loved ones, are behaving. :p Renny
  • Hahaha...Sylvia. You crack me up. This made me laugh. I came on this quote by Fr. Alfred D'Souza today: "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt…
  • Alison - I am glad you got to see Rita and that she is looking good. Pip - I've been following what's happened to you. I surely hope you make a full discovery. Michele - So happy that things turned out okay for Vince. It was a scary situation. My Saturday-Sunday this weekend is filled with a certain little (almost) 4 yr…
  • Can I *like a post? Such as when dinner is in CA? I am in the same time zone
  • I am already with you in my heart, Margaret.
  • You lost a kilo?? That is awesome, Leslie.
  • I do find it difficult when travelling, but it can be done. Grocery store is good because you have control over what you buy. I eat low carb: protein and veggies, with some fruit. When eating out, you can ask to hold the bread/potatoes/rice, etc. All the best. Renny
  • ☼I told you I was coming back today!!! ☼So...it's been awesome to look back over the previous year of pictures to download for a photo album. It shows how much can happen in a year. My DD and DSIL had their 2nd babyboy, my mom nearly died, our 2nd son (we have 4 adult children) came home for a visit, my mom died, I flew…
  • Hello lovely ladies. I hope you are having a fine Sunday. The temperatures have dropped significantly here, which is welcome after such a long stretch of heat. Unfortunately, we have still not had significant rain. I am taking some time to download pictures for adding to photo albums. That project was on my to-do list for…
  • Hi Dee...welcome.
  • Barbie - I love the library books, e books, audio books and you name it. I love our library! No responding to anyone else today :p . Had my hands full with 2 cute lil grandbaby boys. 3 and 1 year old. DD and I first hit Costco and then the day evolved into Oma playing with wee ones and mommy catching up on sleep. I…
  • :) Happy Independence Day to my American MFP friends. I hope your day is fabulous. Cheri - I love how you describe your hubby's good qualities. My DH makes me laugh too, he is such a ham. I don't know how he comes up with some of that stuff. His mom is the same (and still is at 91), so it runs in the family. Beth - Happy…
  • Michele - I am always so happy to read your posts and impressed with your dedication to activities. Barbie - Thank you for remembering your Canadian friends. Canada Day here, for those of you who wonder what that is, it is similar to the USA's 4th of July. ☼It was a sincerely hot day here today, unusually so for our area.…
  • It was a wonderful June. My goal was not to gain during my vacation, and even to lose. And I did lose 3. Capped June off with my 64th birthday. Thank you so much for all the well wishes. That was heart warming. Tomorrow is Canada Day here, so it's a statutory holiday. Kids and grandkids are coming over for brunch. Then it…
  • Happy birthday to you too, sweet Alison!
  • Tomorrow is my 64th birthday and I am playing the Beatles' song "When I'm 64" over and over. DH and I have been singing and dancing. Who knew we'd ever make it this far? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViKkjSzdwL4 Have a great Monday! ♥Renny
  • ☼ Hello there, lovely ladies. It is a warm and muggy day here in paradise. B) We decided to put the AC's in the bedroom windows, because the weather is supposed to get hotter as the week progresses. I biked to the grocery store for produce earlier this morning. That's it for bike riding today. ☼ I made a chickpea summer…
  • @pipcd34 - beautiful poems. Thank you sharing. <3
  • Sylvia - so sorry to hear about the van accident. You have a great perspective though. Kim - Fake husbands sure come in handy! I love it. Must remember for the right occasion. Pip - You look great in all your pictures. Glowing with positivity. Cynthia - after stressful times it feels good to look forward to vacation time.…
  • Courtesy of DH: ...and now you wonder how I was able to eat it? Not to worry, it was not a problem :p What ingredients do you see? Have a great Saturday! Renny
