  • Hi, I'm from Springville, Utah, just south of Provo. I have been using MFP since July 1st and have lost 14 pounds! This is an awesome website!
  • Welcome to MFP! Congratulations on the last 3 days! That's the way to do it....one day at a time. It is too overwhelming to look at the whole picture. Set small goals and as you meet them you will reach your big goals. Good luck!

  • I also have depression and anxiety and have finally found a medication combination that works for me. It took many years. Depression/anxiety is so life changing and hard to handle. I eat when I'm depressed, hence the weight problem. I learned from an early age to stuff my feelings with food. It is a hard habit to break. I…
  • Welcome, I'm 35 days old on this journey and 13 lbs lighter. I have more to go but it's a start. Congratulations on your decision to take control of your life. Good luck. Friend request me if you would like!
  • Your post almost made me cry. I am so sorry for your sad childhood. I also had a hard childhood but now that we are adults we need to parent ourselves (because our parents couldn't or wouldn't) and learn to take care of ourselves. You started by not cutting now you can lose weight. Do it for yourself, not to spite your…

  • Hi and welcome to MFP. Yes, it looks like alot when you say you need to lose 52 lbs. but just take it one pound at a time. I have lost 13 lbs. using the calorie counter on MFP and I feel inspired by what other people have lost. I still need to lose about 60 lbs. but I'm just going to set small goals to reach my big goals.
  • Hi! I would love to be your friend. I have lost 13 pounds using the calorie counter on MFP. Yes, losing weight is very, very hard! I just think of it as one day at a time and 1 pound at a time. It will come off but it takes time. Friend request me if you would like.
  • Welcome to MFP. Good luck!

  • Please add me! I need all the support I can get!
  • Wow! You have done great! I think losing weight requires a certain change in thinking and it may be that you are not there. I was also raised on junk and continued to eat that way as an adult. But when I had a motivation that was for me, my mind just clicked and I am motivated (for the most part LOL). I think you feel as…
  • Welcome to MFP. I have 2 dogs and I know what you mean about just standing there holding their leashes instead of walking them. This is a great website to help you on your weight loss journey.
  • Welcome to MFP. I have found it works for me. I have lost 13 lbs in July and hope to lose a total of 20 by September 1st. I have more than that to lose but that is my mini goal. Good luck and feel free to add me as a friend!

  • Welcome...add me as a friend if you would like!
  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I really needed that today. I am feeling discouraged after losing 13 pounds in a month and getting on the scale to find I have gained a pound after all that hard work this last week. Don't get me wrong, I have 60 more pounds to lose, but you really inspired me to take it one day at a time,…
  • Welcome to MFP. To change your ticker...go to your home page. Select settings at the top. Then choose "update diet/fitness profile". Change your goal weight and save it. That should change your ticker.
  • Welcome to MFP. Your english is great. I understood all of what you were saying. I would love to be added to your "friends". I will send you a friend request. There are many wonderful and supportive people on this website and the tools here are so helpful. I am still carrying the weight from all of my 4 pregnancies and it…

  • I agree. I hope if I need it then a MFP friend would call me out. If I ate a brownie, my husband would say "it's ok". I don't want that!!!! I want "why did you eat that?" or "is it really worth it?"
