How about keep a supply of low cal/healthy foods on hand that will keep you within you caloric goal. You know.. apples..celery sticks , carrots, a banana.. whatever.

I apologize if this comes off bad.. but you could eat 700-800 calories of lard every day and not get as heavy as you say you were. You must have measured something very wrong. :)

I used to look at MY caloric recommendations with some disbelief too.. then I put it in the perspective of "Well.. I MUST have been eating a lot more than this to get this big" .. then I bought a food scale it it all became apparent. :)
