  • Thanks everyone! I have a number of races, many long distance coming up. I am running the Tinkerbell half in May in Disneyland and the Covered Bridges half in Vermont. This is in addition to some 5/10ks and a 7.4 miler close to home. I don't plan on running more than around 15/16 miles. I don't have the time/will-power to…
  • I just signed up for my first half in Feb. I am still working my way through a 10k training program and then will graduate to a half training program.
  • Another 3.1 today October total to date: 6.2
  • 3.18 today! (I am going for 30 miles this month). Although I graduated the program a few weeks ago I am still building up actual distance/mileage. Today was my first run actually running a complete 5k distance!
  • W7D1! woo!
  • Congrats congrats congrats! It's such a great feeling.
  • Agreed! I think the only way I finsihed W5D3 was by taking the advice of the many wise posters here that say SLOW DOWN! You will feel a lot better if you finish, no matter how slow you are going, then to have to quit because you are going too fast. I think we all think we can't go slower but until we are actually standing…
  • I was/am about 220ish. I couldn't run in the beginning. I don't think I have ever in my life ran long enough to be considered a 5k. I am now on week 6 of the program (I repeated week 2). I just ran 20 minutes straight for the first time in my life. The first week I thought I was going to die running a minute. I followed…
  • I did it! WOO! W5D3. In the beginning of the program I could barely run a minute and now I ran 20 minutes straight without stopping! I can't even believe it. My pace wasn't great (12:56 for the run portions and 16 minute for walking) but I finished and that's really the important part. For everyone on the first few weeks,…
  • I thought there was NO way I could do W5D2...8 minutes straight? But I did it tonight and you can too! I took it slow, tried to stay focused, and was so proud at the end. I will let you know how W5D3 goes!
  • My last run on Wed. (W5D1) was 10:47/mile doing the 5 minute intervals. Today I moved up to 13:00 min/mile for the 8 min running intervals.
  • W4D3 complete. I am feeling really discouraged right now. This week has brought intense calf pain-sort of a locking feeling. I am going quite slow but it is still painful. I don't feel physically challenged in terms of breathing, exhaustion, etc. at all....it's just my calves. I have been stretching really well every…
  • Hooray! Congrats ladytrixbell! I just got done with W4D2 today. I know that week five is really going to be challenged and I am so scared but everyone's results keep me going.
  • I started week 4 slow......really slow. So slow that I know my brisk walk may be just as fast as my running for week 4. When you think you have a nice pice going, slow down even more. Going into last night (the first day of W4D1) I thought there was no possible way I could run five minutes completely....twice. You will be…
  • Me too Chantels1! I can't believe that a month ago the thought of running a minute and a half felt like the worst thing in the world. I just ran five minutes without stopping....twice....in one run. The three minute runs felt like nothing. Best feeling EVER! Looking forward to W4D2 on Friday!
  • Have you been icing your knees? I had some problems with my knees but regular icing really helped.
  • I just finished W3D3 last night.. It's my birthday today so my fiancé and I went for a late run so I could be running into my 30's at midnight. It was a great feeling! I am jealous of everyone's weight loss/inches lost. I haven't lost any pounds or inches in the last 4 weeks ( I did week 2 twice just o make sure I was…
  • I live in Arizona and I always run outside but even running in AZ at 5:30 am is insanely hot. One morning I decide to try the indoor track. I felt that physically it was easier than running outside but I got bored at the end. It may be the monotony of going in circles that made it more difficult for you? I would try and…
  • I ended up doing week 2 twice because of life and being scared of week 3. Well I did W3D1 last night and I had no problems finishing it!
  • Agreed. Even though the inches are not changing I feel so much stronger. Someone else mentioned it getting harder-I feel that too. I am attributing it to me focusing on doing every movement correctly and deeper which is definitely more intense. Everyone is doing so great so far-keep it up!
  • I was pretty discouraged a few days ago too. It looked like I actually gained an inch when I measured (too early, should have waited until day 30). However, I can definitely see a difference in my body. That is totally better than a physical inch. Keep going, it make take a bit more time but it is going to be worth it!
  • I started a little earlier so today is day 8 for me. I was actually really good and motivated every day up until today. I think it's just a matter of being in a terrible mood since waking up. I am hoping to get my workout in this evening. Now that I know the moves I have muted her and put my own music on. Only two…

  • Lunges with bicep curls kill me. Every. Single. Time.
  • I am on day six and I feel very little soreness. The difference in endurance in just one week is crazy (but wonderful). I did take a rest day because I was afraid of injuring myself. Looking forward to the next 24 days!

  • This is my first every post o MFP but I wanted to respond to you. No matter what size, most women have self-esteem issues in some form or another. Last night I went shopping with two friends who are literally half my weight. They were trying on bikinis as I watched on because I cannot fit in to Victoria Secret sizes. I…
