  • Thanks
  • Me too, since yesterday. Tried the recommendation (to disconnect on PP, disconnect on Fitbit, wait 15 min and reconnect) - still not working.
  • Here is a Maximum Heart Rate Calculator: http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/maximum-heart-rate-calculator.aspx For your age it said : ¨ Classic: Your maximum heart rate is 172 beats/minute. Tanaka: Your maximum heart rate is 174 beats/minute.¨ You should check with your doctor though to make sure. Also,…
  • Lovely! Thanks so much - I am sharing this with my friends/family as well.
  • Great Job! And the most important difference is how you feel! Isn´t it great when the pants start to fit a little better and you can see that the exercises or walks from month ago now are so much easier? You are absolutely right! Keep it up and congratulations!
  • Hmm my breakfasts are usually pretty low in calories, not sure that would work with what your doctor said (I have 6 meals/snacks per day each being 200/300/400 calories - depending on how much I work out that day). If you like pancakes - try this: 1 Banana, 1 egg, few blueberries (mush up banana and add the egg, then…
  • Yes - and it is a good thing :) So just go back to healthy eating! One day wont hurt you, but just don´t make a habit out of it :)
  • We pay 720 pesos which is about $56 per month for a family membership. They have a tennis court, pool, sauna, hot tub etc, private training and some classes. I also do some exercise videos on youtube and have a few DvDs at home (but I find those at sales, so it´s not an amount that I spend every month). We don´t do…
  • I agree, good fats are good for you :) - I just use olive, avocado or peanut oil (depending on what I make) - we have natural butter at home (even though we use very little of it). I even bake with olive oil. Then of course nuts, almonds, avocados etc... - my friends have actually lost weight on my pumpkin muffins hahaha…
  • I had to laugh too :) Send you a message :)
  • Welcome to MFP! It is true what they say. Doing it slowly and building up is much better. I used to do it the ¨hard-core¨ way as well with high hopes and would be so unhappy when things didn´t go the way I had planned them. Don´t get me wrong, this here can be difficult too, but logging daily, being informed about what we…
  • Welcome to MFP! Feel free to add me if you would like :)
  • Welcome to MFP :) I send you a message :)
  • Welcome to MFP! Good luck with everything - feel free to add me if you would like :)
  • Awwwww love the PNW! To me that is more my home than where I grew up (Guess you can tell by my pictures :) I used to live in Tacoma, WA - I don´t live there anymore (hoping to be able to move back there again some day though) - but feel free to add my anyway if you would like! Good luck on MFP!
  • Welcome and good luck! You can add me as well if you would like :)
  • Yes, it is a strap. Thanks for the information - unfortunately I do stress a little (ok...my hubby would laugh about the ¨little¨ comment) over it. But the more information I have about it, the better I feel (and less guilty to eat back some of the exercise calories). That´s why I am asking, I mean I do the logging here…
  • @animemoon - I use this calculator: http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx since my HRM only records the BPM & time but doesn´t calculate the calories for me. This calculator is a gross calculator. I don´t know how it works with the different types of HRMs - I…
  • Hi, I only log net calories burned. The ones they show you here on MFP are estimated really high and gross calories. I made my own personal Exercise Tabs (--> Exercise, My Exercise, Create Exercise) - they all say ¨NET¨ on it (to make it easier for me to find them again). Here is a good article that explains the difference…
  • Bump - help please :(
  • Hello, I have several problems with my back as well (lead to having to have an op last April as well). What helped me a lot was, well doing it step by step. I had some very simple exercises from therapy for a few weeks - also had to take a quick course (1 hrs) on how to sit, stand, sleep, get in and out of bed, lift…

  • Hi, Here are some useful calculators: http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/ First, check for your age/weight/height etc how much your body would need and burn in calories if you would just sit around not doing anything (RMR Calculator). Then think about all the other things you do, walking, cleaning,…
  • Well, first it depends on what kind of salsa you would like (sweet & sour, spicy, what kind of chile, etc...) but you can find a lot of recipes online. Few links: http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Appetizers-and-Snacks/Dips-and-Spreads/Salsa/Top.aspx http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/homemade-salsa-recipe/index.html…
  • Congratulations on your success!!!
  • That is a great feeling! Every step (even the little ones) count :) Congratulations! Keep it up!
  • I am sorry that you might have to find a new favorite pair of jeans (on your way to your goal) , but a biggggg CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your success!
  • Welcome :) We´ll keep each other motivated :)
  • Welcome - feel free to add me :)
  • Hi David, I can see how eating healthy and exercising can be more difficult when you are traveling a lot. There are a lot of good restaurant and even ¨fast food¨ places that have healthier options though - and most Hotels these days have Gyms - so let´s hope that we can get you motivated :) Feel free to add me if you would…
