I appreciate obesity and these related conditions come from the foods we select, but my question was: What aliments do you suffer from, as a CONSEQUENCE from being overweight. Your point is how we got there, to suffer from these related conditions. That's not what i was asking.

I'd forgotten from my first post, I also suffered from bad snoring, and sleep apnea. I had to have it checked and the specialist said I was stopping breathing for 30 seconds throughout the duration of the night. That has now gone from losing weight. I walk my dog for 1 hour every day. I do at least 1-2 hours gardening, weather permitting 3 times per week. I've got an exercise bike, and treadmill at home that I use in bad weather. I do Pilates 3 times a week, in my front bedroom. Those are my most regular, if I'm off work, I go swimming.

if what your serving the family will put weight on you, then you are encouraging your family to get fat too, or is it the volume you're eating. 1 spoonful of something nice, then veggies or salad on the side.

go to the gym of an evening, and lift weights, you wont put on muscle, please believe me. but you will burn off a lot of calories, and distract your mind from food. keep up the good work.

thank-you for so much advice. I must admit I've been on a diet for so long, I was starting to give up. But reading everyone's posts, its made me more determined now to lose it, thank-you. I will try and vary my exercise i did get into a routine, obviously my body has got used to it.

I think eating smaller meals and more of them (like 5 instead of three), and exercise before eating, is the key to successful weight loss myself. Its just putting it into practice. If anyone has any other tips i would really appreciate it.
