same height as y'all, with 10 pounds to lose asap, and a goal of running a half marathon in May

Great job! also an inspiration to show everyone that you can have AWESOME style at any size!

I was on vacation for a month in Turkey and I gained weight. I've been very closely watching what I eat since I've been back and lost the weight again. Because I indulged so much on holiday it's easy now to pass on treats and carbs. Also it's much easier to eat healthy when you have your own kitchen and routine. Enjoy your…

I tell myself: this is not the last opportunity in my life to have this food. I can get this at any time I want (in moderation of course). And if it is the only opportunity for me to have this food, well, I eat it!

I just started the Hal Higdon training for 10km. Today I ran 4 km.
-
I did not run once in April. We are already well into May and I haven't run either :( So my goal for the rest of the month is to run 30 km minimum by the end of the month.
-
I should rephrase my post- how do you not overeat when you go out?
-
sounds amazing but it is not what I want in the morning! right now my stomach is rumbling for it though... (I don't eat after 7 p.m. on a regular day)
-
It is on a downward trend, so I am still happy.
-
Oh and my goal by May 1st is to run 10 km - first on a treadmill, and then outside by the end of the month. I ran 8 km on a treadmill last week, so this is possible!

It is not normal to lose complete control of your bowels.

Not on MFP. It's just interesting to see how it can be done without even using photoshop, and the differences in body shape/look of an already fit person, just based on lighting and position.

This has always been a NSV for me. I am five foot four and now about 130 pounds. I do have a thigh gap, but on hot days in a skirt I can still feel the very top of my thighs rubbing together.

I do. It keeps me on track. When I go for even a few days without weighing myself, I overeat, don't track my food, and gain weight. By weighing myself daily I maintain my weight, or lose.

I'm from Toronto. Good luck to everyone here. It's a great way to realise how much you're eating and learn about nutrition. Also a way to eat what you want, but not have to "diet" ( just watch portions, know where it fits into your overall calorie goal, macros, etc). I weigh less now than I did as a teen and in my twenties.

welcome! congratulations on biking and walking everywhere- that is already a fantastic thing to do. You will find that your weightloss will really come from watching what you eat. by logging your food and reading the forums here you can learn alot about nutrition.

what about a homemade dessert like banana bread or carrot cake? even homemade bread, with butter. I like plain yogurt (greek or balkan style), with some maple syrup, ground flax seeds and hemp hearts. very healthy but high calorie.

real butter is a better choice than margarine. tastes better too.

fresh baguette with butter. I don't buy them for this reason. I can eat half a baguette in the blink of an eye.

make your meals at home. make big quantities on the weekend, like chilies and stews, freeze them in smaller portions. Then bring it to work in tupperware. When you are hungry just eat some of your healthy lunch you've made. Celery does not cut it for me! Although with hummus or bean dip it is good (also easy and cheap to…

To get to 125 lbs by end of month (I hover between 128 and 132 currently). To have 100 grams of protein per day. To log all my food on this site. To keep on running a few times a week and get up to a 15 km run. (just ran 11.2 km yesterday, so it can be done!).
-
welcome! This is a very supportive place. There is alot of good information about nutrition and health- mainly- don't keep your calories too low!
-
you are at a healthy weight. 1200 calories is no way to live! If you want to change your body more, focus on fitness goals. Weightlifting to build muscle, yoga for flexibility, cardio for your heart or stress reduction, etc.

This entire board is a support group! But as you post more and explore I'm sure you'll be able to create your own. The tricks that work to motivate children also work for adults! Do not underestimate the power of a big sticker chart on your fridge for when you work out!

I am taking Vega protein powder, it is vegan and all natural. I also eat cottage cheese.
