The issue I still face with adding exercise calories would be that the macros would still differentiate. I'm planning for higher protein on non-training days to aid recovery with reduced carbs, and higher carbs on training days to fuel my workout.
-
Did you enter your activity level correctly when signing up? 4,700 calories is a lot of food, are you sure that's right?
-
Try having a high carb meal the night before, this should fuel your morning workout meaning you don't have to eat breakfast before the gym.

Yes, I'd follow this advice taking into consideration your surgery.
-
Maybe spinning will be too much to start with in that case. Your probably best consulting a doctor before you begin any sort of training.
-
It depends on what level you're at. If you're gym offers spinning classes they're a great fat burner, and will do wonders for your fitness. Strength training is also a good weigh to lose excess fat, particularly compound exercises.

Quorn is meant to be a good source of protein, although I'm not sure if this is just vegetarian or vegan.
-
Nice, I only have unflavoured protein powder, would a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder be good enough?

Add some chorizo sausage to your salads, this will bump the calories up. Like coever said, increase the nuts in your diet. Substitute the water in your porridge for milk, I think it's 60ml of milk for every 10g porridge oats. Doing all this will mean you can reduce the portion size of your carbs (quinoa, pasta etc.) which…

It's hard to say that meal plan doesn't suit without knowing the portion size of your lunch and dinner, or your current weight, current calorie goals and macro goals. OP you'll need to provide further information so people can recommend foods/meals that will fit your philosophy.

MrM – We come back to the point where you are saying you haven’t eaten fries or fast food in a long time. This is not the point, you are advocating people can eat whatever they want within their calories and macro goals. By you not eating those foods, you’re sort of fighting my argument for me. Why don’t you eat fries or…

Your best bet is compound movements if your trying to burn fat and HIIT for your cardio. Compound movements include squats, kettle bell swings, clean and jerk etc. But you don't look like you've got much fat you need to burn anyway.
-
MrM - I don't have before and after pictures because I never though I'd have to prove myself to people over the Internet. I'm pretty tired of going over the same things, if you actually read what I was saying and had a think about it you might understand. Your telling people to eat whatever they want within their calorie…

The machines are good for beginners that need to learn correct movements. You could try a push, pull, legs workout. One day focusing on pushing exercise (chest press, shoulder press etc), the next on pulling exercises (rows, deadlifts etc.), and the last on legs. I'd always recommend using free weights over machines once…

What sort of exercise are you trying to record? Cardio or strength training? Edit - Sorry misread post, disregard my comment.

Ndj - From that list, only cookies, unless you can find some with zero sugar which I don't think anybody wants to eat, but you've said in previous threads, that people can eat whatever they want within their calories and macros.
-
I said something which didn't come out the way it was meant. The OP understood that, and understood what I meant, which was who the comment was intended for. I don't know how from what I said you came to the conclusion that I am saying ice cream should be avoided in the bulk. That is not what I said nor what I intended to…
-
Ndj- I never said I didn't say that, what've said is that is not what I meant, which I think you know. If you meet your calories and macros it is fine, but it's not the optimal way to bulk. If you took the time to read that article you'd see why, which by the way is based on information from Nate Miyacki, a well known…

That wasn't the point I was trying to make. I don't understand why you can't appreciate that you're way isn't the only way to bulk. Eating your way, whatever you want so long as it hits your calories will work, but will likely result in a lot of unnecessary fat, that is going to be harder to lose than it is easy to avoid.…
-
I think that's exactly the point, the OP was asking for foods they can eat during the day to make good gains, which I think I've answered. Veg, fish rice, nuts etc. YES, burgers, chips, beer etc. NO. I'm not interested in your philosophies or what you eat. I'm trying to help the OP to make the gains that I have, using the…

Sorry if I've upset you, but it's not just me flagging your offensive and unreasonable posts. I think the difference of the surplus goes a long way. 1,000 calories made of a burger and fries is nowhere near as beneficial as 1,000 calories of veg, fish and rice. Not just for your macros but for all round vitamin…

I didn't answer the question because I didn't follow how it ties back to what I've said or how it helps OP. I think you're getting side tracked from the OP.
-
I didn't say saturated fat was bad for you. Saturated fat is perfectly fine in moderation, which is why I used the term 'steering away' rather than saying cut it out completely. I also didn't say anyone said for OP to fill calories with beer and vodka, that remark was to give him an idea of what to avoid, which other…
-
Good to see someone can keep up and not just use this site to attack other members. To avoid gaining a gut and excess fat try steering away from saturated fat, and avoid empty calories like beer and vodka.

Ok, well you need to start eating more calories all together, but especially for breakfast. I'm 5"11 currently weightling 80.6kg, but I'm eating 3,500 calories a day. When you start going to the gym, if you're eating the right foods you won't gain as much fat in the places you don't want. What is your current body fat?
-
I'm in a similar boat, I have a desk job where I don't need to leave my chair much. I have split my hour lunch break into two 30 minute breaks to give me the chance to fit an extra meal in during the day. I'm currently having 5 meals during my day; 8:00am, 11:30am, 3:00pm, 6:00pm (pre-workout), 9:00pm (post-workout).…

Have to agree with this, their are other health factors to take into consideration when choosing your foods to bulk with, other than just the calorie count. Any variation of nuts will help with your bulk with a high healthy fat content and protein, and also boast loads of calories for small portions. 50g Almonds is…

Any other variation of nuts particularly almonds, walnuts and pistachios.
