you may be right about the dressing. usually a bit gets left behind in the cups as well as the bottom of the plate... so the amount I consume is probably a little less. but that's likely splitting hairs at this point. I just don't want to lose my gains, but don't want to go TOO far over my 3000kcal goal, either. The…

Perhaps I should lower my estimate from 1000kcal with the dressing to around 900? I'm estimating the pint of beer (5.5% sweet stout) at about 350 calories as well. Hah, lots of estimating this week. My gains will surely be low. :(

I just checked the CF website... the Cobb Salad has 1890mg of sodium. Total calories is only 930kcal. I'm going to *assume* that includes the dressing, as the dressing is listed with the item on the menu,

I estimated the dressing around 3 "ounces", not tablespoons. 3 oz = 6 tbsp. That seems CRAZY high for a Cobb Salad... wow.

Thanksgiving + bulking season = I CANNOT FUGGEN WAIT

Coming from Michigan, I'm also surrounded by delicious beer everywhere. I used to try & be more scientific about it... But anymore, I just follow the "roundabout" method. ABV x 30 will give you an approximation of the calories in a 12 oz serving. Divide by 10 for approximation of the carbs. Since most craft beers are…

I buy those tube shaped single packs of nuts, otherwise I would eat the whole container, too. And those 100 calorie packs are egregiously small. Depending on the brand, size, nut, etc., the tubes usually have around 230-400 calories which is fine by me.

Pop-tarts. Don't get me wrong, I still eat Pop-tarts now, but I make them fit into my dietary goals. Pre-MFP, I would easily eat two packs without an issue, sometimes three (yes, that means 4 or 6 actual pastries) which is around 1200 calories & ~220 carbs. The worst thing is that they're not even that satiating, so I'd…

If your only goal is to simply lose weight, all that matters is caloric deficit, regardless of whether those calories come from fat, carbs, or protein.

I don't do P90X anymore, I've decided to start weight training instead, however I can't speak highly enough about P90X (haven't tried X2 or X3). I attribute most/all of my dedication to fitness, including my initial 30# weight loss, to Tony Horton & P90X. His happy-go-lucky attitude, joking nature, & encouraging outlook…

cheat day, back on track the next day. one day will not kill your progress.
-
Sour cream, butter, garlic salt, pepper, bacon crumbles, & green onion is the way to go. Some times ranch + hot sauce floats my potato boat, too.
-
It's only horrible if it causes you to go over your calorie/macro goals for the day.
-
I try to get a big bowl of Lucky Charms a few times a week. I usually use a vanilla ON whey protein shake as the milk to better fit my macros, too. I think 2x servings of Charms w/ 1 cup almond milk & I scoop of ON whey comes out to something like 360 calories.

Agree, most of the Walden Farm's salad dressings taste like plastic, however the Raspberry Vinaigrette is okay. Stay away from Ranch, Blue Cheese, Italian (basically any of the other dressings, though).

Haha, yes, I was probably in the restroom at least 10 times yesterday after all the water I drank... But it obviously worked! I even had a beer & cheesecake with dinner last night, then I wake up to ~4 lbs less on the scale. Pretty good feeling :-p
-
You should see how much broccoli can be eaten for 200 calories. Nomnomnom
-
Back down by about 4 lbs today... still have just a little to get rid of, I think, but I'm glad to see it shed off so quickly! Thanks again for the responses.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I often have a cheat day once every two weeks, occasionally once a week, & it hasn't adversly affected my progress at all. I think this time just happened to be worse since the foods I ate were all loaded with salt, much more sodium that I'd ever consume even on other cheat days. That, plus…

Thanks for this info! Maybe I'll have to start buying mine dry. How do you cook them? Just boil in water?
-
Seems like a small serving size... I believe a serving size for the canned was around 135g.
-
I understand this, I do this for things as well. My point is, the serving size for example is 135g. The net weight of the can (on the front label) says 425g. The can also says = servings per container About 3. Makes sense, since 425 / 135 is just a little over 3. However when I weighed the beans after draining the water,…

1 can garbanzo beans 3 cloves minced garlic 1 oz minced jalapeno 2 tbsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp ground cumin Blend in food processor - viola, lowfat hummus. My question is, should my recipe include the nutrition for the drained bean weight, or beans + water? I used some of the water to make a creamier hummus. But it's not oil,…

Yeah, but some of them are vastly different... Not sure why, they should all be relatively similar I would think.
-
I'm still kind of confused, though. Is that article insinuating that the 60 cal count is _correct_ then? Or is it an underestimate, because they neglected to "count" Fiber in the calories?

Greek yogurt, hidden valley ranch powder, a little milk. Perfecto.

I usually have two scoops of C4 extreme for the creatine + caffeine boost, then something small. Like, really small, as I'm usually not hungry when I first wake up. Maybe a single mini-muffin, handful of grapes, handful of granola. I always do have something after my work-out still (usually a protein shake, oatmeal, or…
