I went to a specialty shoe store and invested in orthotics/ arch support inserts and they changed my life. No more foot pain or shin splints. I also stretch my calves and ankles a lot more before I run now too.

Today was a 'rest day' according to my training plan - so I only ran 2 miles and biked 10 miles. Rest, my a**! What was amazing to me was how easy it is to run 2 miles now...I almost felt like I was cheating!

I fell off the wagon mid-month but still hit my goal, so this month we are going to bump it up to....75 miles (ack!!).

My 8y.o. son was trying to get a rise out of me this morning by kicking the back of the seat and making stupid noises (loud). When I continued to ignore him he said "You are impervious". So funny to hear a little guy say such a big word! BUT then it got funnier..... He said "Daddy says that about you all the time!".

DIPSI off of anything! chair, steps, stool. Push ups - wide, narrow, diamond, off the wall My favorite is using a big thing of laundry detergent (I think its like 96 or 100oz? but the 50oz would work too)and pretend its a kettle bell. Google kettle bell exercises.
