  • In January, I started to run at 298 lbs. I think I could run about 500 feet before I was exhausted. But as many have said, start at small intervals, and do what your body can do. I started out listening to music, I would run a song, walk a song, ( just dont make the running song Stairway to Heaven.) After a month or so I…
  • I personally love people in all shapes and sizes. but living so close to South Beach and all the plastics down here in south florida, this is not always the case... My preference though is not to skinny, and curvy. I dont want to throw her over my head during sex, she might hit the fan....lol
  • You know what, nobody really cares what you look like running. I mean even if you think about someone that is thin driving by, they are an afterthought in about 2 minutes. To me what would be more embarrassing is to let the way someone else percieves me get in the way of my goals. I run on the treadmill quite frequently, (…
  • Had to have been at least 14 years. From the time I was born until I was age 14. But every since then.....lol
  • This happened to me when I was younger and I didn't hit it or anything it just fell off. It did grow back...
  • Hey Douglas, Its very important to keep sodium down for weight loss. And believe me I love my salt....However I use other methods to cure this habit. I use Mrs. Dash on a lot of things instead of salt, and I also use many other spices to cure my appetite for salt. Not only that but many foods already contain high amounts…
  • Now that has me rolling off on the floor!!! I think I went to Wendy's one time and got their BLT salad. Then I realized that this with the dressing had more calories than a Big Mac with Fries and a Coke, so I can totally relate...... Great post.
  • If you are full don't eat anymore. Even when I exercise, I try to stick to the initial amount I was allocated. Reason being that anything I exercise would actually being weight lost. Pretty much a 1200 calorie diet is sufficient for most dieters, sometimes higher depending on the range of obesity. My question is if i feel…
  • Most people that do Low Carb diets to not follow them properly anyhow. They key is to put the body into ketosis, leave your carbs to under 18grams for the first two weeks. After this you are supposed to raise your carbs 2 grams a week until you stop losing weight, and then go back to where you were previously at while you…
  • Actually this is a fact.....hehe
  • Kerry, The first thing I do is politely ask. what ingredients are used in the food. Sometimes they will even give you the recipe, or they may have nutritional facts on it already. If they don't I usually guess at a high rate over what I normally would think it is. If I think its 800, its probably 900..hehe.
  • For the most part yes. As you lose weight, your caloric intake will be adjusted to the needs of the body to lose weight. I started at 1900 calories and now down to 1770, but really you should never go under 1200.
  • As long as your not having the Frank's Hot Sauce on your Oatmeal :-D
  • OMG this is totally devastating news to me!!
  • I am definitely with you on this.
  • Buy some lingerie and sport yourself in it. I am sure that would be the best present ever!
  • If you don't ever want to see him again, The Kinect cause he will never put it down. If you like to listen to music, then the guitar center... I personally play guitar, so I would take the Guitar Center.
  • I actually like mussels sometimes. That and a little butter with it. I dont dunk them in the butter though. I just put on enough to coat them....lol
  • Dont think of it as a cheat day, think of it as a reward day. Keep it up. I personally like turkey on the whole grain wheat bun with spicy mustard to give it flavor, and much better than mayo..(yuck). And have them load up the veggies. I usually will eat a 12" but I like to eat half first and then save the other have for…

  • I agree with pretty much everyone here. Although I rarely eat breakfast, I always try to have something even if very light, just to get my metabolism going. This pretty much gives lunch a good portion of my calories. I try to spread my calories over the day pretty evenly, but I try to eat lighter foods in the evening. 600…
  • When you are working out you should be using your tricep muscles. Push ups are good for this at your home. Also tricep pull downs if you are at a gym.
  • First of all welcome to MFP. I personally have heard this same plea many times before. First of all, these are people that have never dealt with weight issues and obviously have no respect for your feelings. So no I don't think you need counseling ( yet :-)) But I just met you so cant assume anything either. If you keep…
  • Keep it up, and be thankful that you get to spend a dinner with your family!!! Unfortunately my dinner's with me family are few and far between.
  • You also want to remember not to deprive your metabolism not working at its potential. You are doing great keep up the good work...Save the calories you dont use today to make you feel better if you go over on another day.
  • Let me reverse it. Do you want to feel bad for that many days? Not drinking will make you feel better and your body and keep you motivated to continue. I say skip the drinks. Nothing ever came out good from a few drinks....lol
  • Typically this seems like an issue with having great calf muscles... Sometimes it just comes down to "ya got what ya got". However there are ways to give the illusion that your calf musles are not as big by working on your thighs. If you get them larger should give the illusion that your calfs are not so big. Just…
  • Hi Lauren, Welcome and congrats. This site is helping me as well as a lot of people. Personally I think one of the biggest tools it to monitor and record what you are eating. It really makes you self conscious of what you are putting into your body and how much food intake you are taking. What are some of the things or…
  • First of All congrats for quitting smoking!! This is a huge accomplishment in itself. Xmas time is easy to put on additional weight. I did the same as well. Keep motivated. Take some walks and just watch what you eat. You should be able to lose 8 lbs in a month (2lbs a week) with moderate to mild exercise. Obviously it…
