  • I decided that pop tarts were the devil about 4 yrs ago when I realized how much fat and calories are in those suckers!!!
  • Alpha-lipoic acid
  • I have read that ALA can aide weight loss by increasing activity of the hormone leptin on visceral fat cells. Has anyone tried this supplement? Are there any cons to taking it?
  • Yea I'm a retard, they are already cooked!
  • In 1998, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed that frozen fruits and vegetables provide the same essential nutrients and health benefits as fresh. It's no wonder. Frozen fruits and vegetables are nothing more than fresh fruits and vegetables that have been blanched (cooked for a short time in boiling water or…
  • Thanks everyone! Now do I need to cook the shrimp first? How do I cook frozen shrimp??
  • I have a bag of frozen shrimp that I don't know what to do with! I have never cooked fresh or frozen shrimp so I'm not sure where or how to start. Any ideas?
  • I don't eat fast food, never really have but on rare occasions. I mostly eat fruits, veggies, lean meats, whole wheat, etc. I measure EVERYTHING, well except my water consumption, but I drink water all day long so I'm sure I'm good on the water. I think I may try cutting back on exercise as you are not the first to…
  • Oh well I don't think she checked all of that just my thyroid. Should she have? My doctor is a flake and I honestly I would have found another doctor but I am in the process of moving out of state and didn't want to go through the process of finding another doctor to only be able to see them once.
  • I have a message into them to call me. What numbers are you referring to??
  • I actually got it tested on Friday. They said they would call me yesterday if something was wrong, but I never heard from them so I'm assuming my thyroid is fine.
  • Yea something seems odd to me too! It doesn't make sense and is incredibly frustrating!
  • I have been on MFP since the end of January. Within the first week I lost 7 lbs, and over the next 3 weeks I lost 4 lbs, but since my weight has been at a standstill. I have not lost inches either which makes this extremely frustrating. I am 23, 5'2 and weigh 174. I work out 6 days a week for at least an hour each time. My…

  • I am so sorry for your loss.
  • So tomorrow I promised a friend I would go to lunch with her at Chili's. I briefly glanced at their menu but didn't see any low calorie options. Any suggestions?
  • I just bought a big box of them from Sam's club. I LOVE THEM. At first I thought that 150 calories was too much for a granola bar, but they really do fill you up and satisfy your sweet tooth!
  • Well I'm not trying to cut out fat completely, but it just seems while watching my calories my fat intake is the hardest one for me to reach. The fats that I do get are typically the good fats as well. Also I have no problem eating my fruits and veggies, but it seems I also go a little over in the carbs area because of…
  • I agree. I eat a lot of fiber, fruits and veggies and I'm regular as can be. My MIL on the other hand has all sorts of issues, but then again all she eats is fried food and would rather go hungry than eat an apple. So if you are unwilling to eat fruit, veggies, whole grains, then yes you might need a cleanse.
  • So today I have reached about 50% of the recommended fat intake per MFP. I am currently at 23 grams. Is this bad? I know that people go on low fat diets all the time so would it hurt me to reduce my fat and my calories? At this point I am willing to try anything as I have been stuck for 2 months with no weight loss.
  • You need to get out of that situation and show an example for your two little girls. NO ONE deserves to be treated that way. I know that I am not in your situation and it's easier for me to say just leave him, but you have 2 little girls who look up to you and how you let people treat you will affect how they let people…
  • I originally bought a MIO from Walmart, but returned it when I realized you have to manually check your pulse with it while working out. Didn't seem very accurate to me. I went ahead and bought the polar f6 for about $90. The chest strap doesn't bother me at all either.
  • I think it also takes some time for you body to readjust itself to your new weight.
  • I am always hungry. I will eat a meal and be hungry 30 minutes later! I don't know how it is possible not to eat all of your calories! I don't know what full is anymore :)
  • Plain shredded wheat is the only cereal I have found without any sugar. It's very filling and you can always add a little bit of sugar yourself. Adding banana naturally sweetens it as well.
  • Good luck if you decide to try this. Last week I decided I wanted to try this cleanse starting today, well that lasted a whole 2 hours! I thought to myself "How bad can the salt water drink really be?" Well it was one of the most disgusting things I have ever experienced. Seriously, you have to drink a whole quart of this…
  • I was on paxil for anxiety and gained 40 lbs in a year, 30 of which occurred in the first 4 months. I have been struggling to get the weight off. Last week I made the switch to prozac so hopefully that will help.
  • Asparagus!!!! Yes, I have had asparagus before, but was never a huge fan. Today, I decided to try and make it myself. I roasted the fresh asparagus for 20 minutes at 400 with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and fresh minced garlic. YUM! It tastes better than when restaurants make it! Plus it's only 25 calories for 5…
  • Roasted asparagus Grilled lemon pepper chicken Wild rice
  • It usually averages about 700 over a week. I currently am set to have a 700 calorie deficient /day for a loss of 1.3 lbs/week which puts me at a 4900 deficient a week. So according to everything I read I should still be losing at least a lb a week since even if I go over 700 calories because I'll still have a 4200 calorie…
