800-1000 calorie diet?
Hello, I was a member for four months last year in which I only lost 10 lbs, 7 of which were in the first week. I maintained 1200 calories, and worked out about 5 days a week (eating the calories I burned according to my HR monitor). After months of not losing, I gave up. Now, I am 10 lbs heavier than when I started the…

Heart rate too high???
I have the Polar F4 heart rate monitor and I have it set to show me my % of max heart rate while working out. I have noticed that when I get above 80% max, I feel like I'm going to pass out. It's hard to explain exactly how I feel, but it's not good. Where should my heart rate be when working out??

Couch to 5k, help needed.
I started this today and I have some questions! At what pace do you walk and run? Today I did 3.4 for the walk, and 5 for the running part, but half way through I had to change to 3.2 and 4.5. I felt like I was going to die! The guy on the podcast said you shouldn't be out of breath, but I was the entire time. Also, my…

Now I am REALLY confused!!!
So for months I have been at a weight loss standstill. I tried upping my calories from 1200 to 1400, I tried lowering them to 1100. I tried working out 6 days a week for an hour instead of 5. I was always eating my exercise calories but NOTHING. Well this week I have been really sick so I have been just eating what I…

I am sick and I want to eat!
How come so many people don't eat when they are sick? If anything, I am hungrier. I feel like hell and I just want to eat what I want to eat! Today I had taco bell for lunch for the first time in a LOOOONG time because I was not up to preparing anything for lunch. I managed to work it into my calorie intake and only went…

Anyone take ALA?
I have read that ALA can aide weight loss by increasing activity of the hormone leptin on visceral fat cells. Has anyone tried this supplement? Are there any cons to taking it?

Any suggestions? PLEASE
I have been on MFP since the end of January. Within the first week I lost 7 lbs, and over the next 3 weeks I lost 4 lbs, but since my weight has been at a standstill. I have not lost inches either which makes this extremely frustrating. I am 23, 5'2 and weigh 174. I work out 6 days a week for at least an hour each time. My…

Chili's recommendation?
So tomorrow I promised a friend I would go to lunch with her at Chili's. I briefly glanced at their menu but didn't see any low calorie options. Any suggestions?

Is it bad to eat less fat?
So today I have reached about 50% of the recommended fat intake per MFP. I am currently at 23 grams. Is this bad? I know that people go on low fat diets all the time so would it hurt me to reduce my fat and my calories? At this point I am willing to try anything as I have been stuck for 2 months with no weight loss.

Bulky legs
I have always been cursed with naturally built legs - big thighs and big calves. Now not only are they big and muscular, they have a nice layer of fat over them. Is there any way to slim them down, besides of course doing cardio to get rid of the fat?

I just discovered....
Asparagus!!!! Yes, I have had asparagus before, but was never a huge fan. Today, I decided to try and make it myself. I roasted the fresh asparagus for 20 minutes at 400 with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and fresh minced garlic. YUM! It tastes better than when restaurants make it! Plus it's only 25 calories for 5…

Help
I need help. I have not lost ANYTHING for over a month now. I am 23, 5'2 and weigh 174. My calories are currently set at 1200, but to be honest most days I end up going over by 100-200 because I'm so hungry! I am sedentary for the most part but work out 5-6 days a week at 45-70 minutes each session. I do eat my exercise…

Ice cream sundae
For those with a sweet tooth I just made the BEST sundae! I took a 98% fat free sugar free ice cream sandwhich and cut it up into chunks. Topped it with some Cool Whip Free, a tbsp of chocolate syrup and a tbsp of toasted pecans. YUM. It ran me a little over 200 calories, but was totally worth it!

Is corn bad?
I know corn isn't considered one of the most nutritious veggies, but should it be avoided? I love corn and tonight was the first time in a long time that I have eaten it because for some reason I have it pounded in my head that I shouldn't. What are your thoughts?

Would this be okay?
So I really want to boost my weight loss as I have been stuck for a couple weeks. I have been working out 45 min/day 6-7 days a week, making sure to eat my exercise calories, but I still feel like my body adjusts to whatever amount I eat. Like the first week I was on this diet I was STARVING and I lost 7 lbs. Since then, I…

Super Pretzel!
I know that this is not the healthiest thing, but I LOVE Super Pretzels. Today at Sam's club I broke down and bought a BIG box of them! They are 180 calories each and only have 1 gram of fat. Nothing is better than a big soft Super Pretzel with some Tostitos Con Queso cheese sauce.

Question
I get all confused when I start to think about this so maybe someone can clarify! MFP sets your calorie goal based on a deficiency number so that you lose a set amount each week. Doesn't your body adjust after a week or two at that lower calorie amount? I have been doing 1200 calories since the beginning of February. The…

Macaroni binge
This weekend was bad. Friday night I went to a friends and had a few drinks, which I don't do very often. When I got home I got the worst craving for some mac and cheese. So what did I do? I made a big pot of homemade mac and cheese, with 5 different cheeses (yum), that I ate all by myself. Then when I woke Saturday…

Anyone taking paxil?
I was curious if anyone has experienced weight gain while taking paxil? I starting taking Paxil a little over a year ago for anxiety, and since I have gained 40lbs. I can not fully place blame on Paxil, but I do have a feeling that it had something to do with my weight gain as I gained the 40lbs within 4 months of taking…

I bought a heart rate monitor
Today I decided to buy a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. I got the Polar F4 model and decided to try it out while doing Tae Bo. I was very impressed with the heart rate monitor, but very disappointed in my calories burned. For a couple months I have been doing Tae Bo regularly and have check MANY websites to try to…

Another question about Heart rate monitors
So I broke down today and bought a Mio heart rate monitor from Walmart. My purpose for the heart rate monitor is to track how many calories I burn during my exercises. This particular heart rate monitor doesn't continuously monitor heart rate (you have to press to buttons to get heart rate) so I'm not sure how it would…

Do I have to strength train??
I would MUCH rather do cardio than strength training because I get bored too easily with strength training, whereas cardio keeps me moving and motivated. So my question is do I have to strength train? The cardio workouts that I do include push ups, lunges, kicking, punching etc. so I definitely feel like I'm building…

Does anyone here do the Biggest Loser Cardio Max workout?? I did it for the first time today and it kicked my butt!! I was only able to do level 1 and level 2. I have been doing Tae Bo 5-6 days a week for a couple months so it's not like I'm out of shape!

Does anyone else feel like it's not good enough?
So today is my weigh in day. I step on the scale and I am down 2 lbs this week, for a total of 11 lbs. I should be happy right? I'm not. I don't feel like it's good enough. I haven't even noticed a change in the way my clothes fit. My husband comes home in a month and a half from being in Afghanistan for 15 months and at…

Sushi!
I have never been a huge sushi eater, only the occasional California roll, but now I think I might eat it more often! Today I bought some from Kroger - a package containing 12 pieces - and the whole thing ( 2 servings) was only 316 calories! It was a little high in carbs (60 grams for all 12 pcs), but low in fat (4 grams)…

Alli
I have a few questions about Alli and wonder if anyone here could answer them for me. * have/are any of you taking Alli and what are your thoughts about this product? * If Alli blocks a quarter of the fat you eat, wouldn't you have the same effect if you ate 1/4 less fat? * I have been told by members of this board that it…

Over and under
I have been doing this for a week now and everyday I am under in fat and over in protein - some days over in carbs as well. I eat about 20 grams of fat/day, which I feel is sufficient, but my "goal" is set to 40. I don't really know what I should do. I would much rather eat an apple than a tbsp of butter, but when I have…
