I get all confused when I start to think about this so maybe someone can clarify! MFP sets your calorie goal based on a deficiency number so that you lose a set amount each week. Doesn't your body adjust after a week or two at that lower calorie amount? I have been doing 1200 calories since the beginning of February. The first week I lost 7 lbs and was STARVING. Since I have only lost 3 additional pounds and am not so hungry. Has my body learned to function on a lower calorie amount? I DO work out 5-7 days a week, and I DO eat my extra calories.

I can tell you that my personal research and my high speed scale has come up with several different BMR's all based on the same info. So that being the case I vary my calories every week and even lowerd my daily activity level just in case on the site here. right now im doing 2650 cals but 3 weeks ago i was at 3500 and i have lost fat, inches or both every week. Next week i plan to go back up to at least 3000.
I know this probably doesnt really help but i think the point is something has to give. maybe change your cal intake or your workouts. only work out 3 days next week or work out harder but change something and keep going but dont give in because you hit a little snag. I also track all my workouts and try to beat or at a minimum match the previous times, cals or distance.

I couldnt tell you the answer to that (non believer) but i do know that my real goal is gaining muscle mass along with losing body fat.
Right now my lean mass is something like 195lbs im trying to get it up to 210-215lbs.
I could just stay there and loose body fat but i feel too thin at 220-225 and 12% body fat so im trying to gain weight in reality to achive my goal of 240 and 12%

Size, density, age. If you weigh 200 lbs and you have 40% more muscle then someone else, it's just gonna take that much more energy to keep you going.
It's the concept of a Honda civic hybrid vs a motercycle. They both burn similar amounts of gas per mile (relatively speaking), so why does the honda have so much larger of a gas tank? Because it takes more gas to run everything in the car.0
