I have never been a huge sushi eater, only the occasional California roll, but now I think I might eat it more often! Today I bought some from Kroger - a package containing 12 pieces - and the whole thing ( 2 servings) was only 316 calories! It was a little high in carbs (60 grams for all 12 pcs), but low in fat (4 grams) and high in protein (8 grams). I was impressed! Just thought I would share in case you didn't know!

    I heart sushi!!!!

Sushi can be really good for you - next time you have a california roll, get it made without mayo - it will take a bunch of the fat and calories out! Also try to stay away from sushi that has tempura in it (means its been deep fried).

Sashimi is great for dieting - It's just raw fish without any rice, so its very high in protein, extremely low in carbs, and has the good fat your body needs in it. If you are a bit queasy about eating raw fish, start with Tuna and Salmon sashimi, they're the mildest. Then you can work your way up to scallop, octopus, red snapper, anything you want!

I concur Sushi is the best. My 8 year old son loves it as well. I taught him well i think.

Just tried some "flying fish roe" a couple months ago (cant remember the name) but it was divine. Mackrel is really good if you are in the mood for an oily fish and you can never go wrong with any of the white or light fish. Best part is you can have it with or without the rice.

    just my 2c
