• Gatorade Zero has like 2 carbs per bottle. Also Powerade Zero is a thing and I'm pretty sure it's less than 1 carb per bottle.
• If you switch from a standard American diet to eating mostly vegetables and meat, then yeah you probably can eat "more food" and still lose weight. However, calorie-wise, of course we all know that to lose weight you must eat less than you burn. Anyone that says otherwise is just wrong.
•
...wonder what will be different after you take them though? You cant lose weight without them - so you take them - but how are you going to continue to lose weight without them (again) when you're done? Im so confused. Anyway- semi-old thread, but Im just wondering how OP is doing.... @Kayy_Whitson ?
I…
• Just wanted to add: something else you might consider is lowering your carbs a little bit and making sure you're not eating too much sodium. This could potentially help you drop any bloating/water weight that you're carrying right now. You will feel better and your dress will fit better if you're not bloated. Just a…
• OP, I've been there and I sympathize. I got married a little over a year ago. I bought a dress when I was close to my lowest weight, and then subsequently gained about 10-15 lbs by the time the fittings came around. My solution was to focus on exercise rather than starving myself. I saw where you like the 30 Day Shred by…
• I say this as someone currently doing the ketogenic lifestyle - "low carb" diets have such a bad reputation b/c a few idiots like to claim that it gives them magical powers. It's a great way to lose weight FOR ME b/c it manages my large appetite and I don't feel bloated and gross all the time. Many people can eat lots of…
• OP, are you "dying" mentally or physically? If you legitimately feel tired/sick/etc., you might want to add carbs back and see if you feel better. It could be that eating low-carb is not the way to go for you. There's nothing wrong with that. Carbs are not the devil. Many people can eat high-carb and lose weight…
• I have not tried straight egg whites, but from what I've read they are generally the worst part of the egg to eat if you have an autoimmune issue. Thanks everyone for the replies!
• This is true. Maybe I just need to train myself to not be so picky in the mornings. I usually can't stomach anything really heavy. That's why I loved eating eggs for breakfast - they fill me up but I don't feel too stuffed after eating.
• The struggle is real. I hate Crohn's. Oatmeal is another good thought. It just never fills me up for some reason.
• I've never tried egg substitutes, didn't even know that was a thing. I'll have to look for it.
• Thanks :( I'm been throwing myself a pity party for while now.
• I have not tried this. Any other savory suggestions? I completely forgot about cottage cheese! I'll have to add that to my grocery list.
• Tofu is an interesting idea. I've always been a little hesitant to try it but I guess now is as good a time as any!
• I see the merit in it for SOME people. Lately I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping if I eat too soon before bed, particularly if it includes a lot of carbs. B/c of that, I've made it a rule not to eat after dinner. I don't have a set time b/c I don't eat dinner at the same time every night, but it's usually between…
• If you have a crockpot I really enjoy buffalo chicken. A few boneless, skinless chicken breasts, one bottle of Texas Pete, and a packet of Ranch dressing mix. Cook for about 4 hours on high. The chicken shreds and is really tasty on tacos, by itself, or leftover on salads.
• Idk the science behind it, but this happens to me too! I've seen some theories that you actually burn more calories during your period, which would explain the increase in hunger. I don't know how true that is though.
• Exactly. Why does it have to be either/or? Can we not, as a society, admit that being obese is unhealthy and encourage others to lose weight WITHOUT calling them "fatties" and telling them to "cover up"?? It is very rare that shaming someone actually accomplishes anything. So why do it, other than just to make someone feel…
• My mom goes on and off the HCG diet. She swears by it, but yet she has to keep doing it b/c she gains the weight back as soon as she goes off of it. This is b/c the ONLY reason you lose weight is b/c you're eating a miniscule amount of calories. As soon as you start eating a normal amount of calories, which you will b/c…
• I am doing it, but only for the workouts, really. My mom is a big proponent of all the beachbody stuff (shakeology, P90x, etc.) and she ordered a program for the both of us. Honestly, the only reason I'm doing it is for the workouts. I much prefer counting calories and seeing the numbers every day (I'm an accountant, so…
• I think that's a very realistic number to start with. I agree with you about being impatient, I'm the same way. However, I turn into a serious grump when I get hungry, so I can't agree with you on the willpower thing lol.
• Unfortunately, no web site can magically examine your body and tell you exactly the right answer. They are all estimates. Therefore, you have to take those estimates and experiment with what works for you. If you eat 1500 calories and are starving, then eat 1800. If you are not losing weight at 1800, then drop it to 1700.…
• My brown husky Misha is in my profile pic. My fiance and I also just adopted a 2 1/2 year old deaf pit bull named Puff. He's my baby...such a lap dog it's ridiculous. He's also afraid of the cats ;)
• Congrats on everyone's engagement! I, too, am trying to lose some weight before my wedding. Mine is just a few days before the OP's (1/3/15). I've got plenty of time to lose ~40 lbs...the hard part is staying motivated when the date is so far away! I know this year will fly by, though. Good luck everyone!
• I've pretty much stopped drinking my calories. I just enjoy eating so much more than drinking lol. The biggest things are margaritas (I've switched to an occasional glass of wine) and high calorie Starbucks drinks. I still go to Starbucks all the time, but now I just get either tea or coffee with a little creamer/splenda.…
• This is my favorite! I also love their Pumpkin Spice one. They are delicious if you mix them!
• Calling the OP lazy is a little over the top, in my opinion. Diets like slim fast are marketed CONSTANTLY as being realistic, great solutions for people who need to lose weight. Some people really think this is a viable option. To the OP, I have tried Slim Fast and other meal replacement shakes in the past. While I don't…
• My boyfriend and I have one and he uses it a lot more than I do, which is funny b/c I'm the diet soda drinker! It's kind of ironic b/c it's really cut down on my consumption of soda...we never buy cans anymore and I'm too lazy to make a soda stream bottle! lol In all seriousness, it's a neat little contraption and the soda…
• I agree. Obviously it was stupid for the mother to let her child go anywhere alone with this man, but we have no idea what this woman's situation was. Maybe she was in such a bad situation that it was a relief to know that her child was going to get to eat that day. No doubt she should have stayed with the child, but let's…
• I disagree that overeating during PMS is just an excuse. I, personally, do not really get cravings at all during TOM. I sometimes crave sweets a bit more, but nothing drastic that I see as a detriment to my diet. HOWEVER, I am SO MUCH HUNGRIER during TOM than any other time of the month. Now, I certainly can "control" what…
