That 1200 is a starvation level for absolutely everyone regardless of height and size, and activity levels. Jeez. i work in a hospital and there must be loads of negligent doctors putting gastric band patients on 600 cal a day diets . . . .

1100 calories. 3 stone in total lost. 5ft 1. Maintaining successfully.

TBf, 1100 a day worked for me. DIFFERENT THINGS WORK FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE. And another thing, not everyone is fat because they overate in the first place. Certain types of cancer treatment also cause increased weight gain.

I don't log everyday now as I am maintaining, and won't realistically log every day for the rest of my life. However, if I am eating something new I log it so I can get an idea of what I am eating calorie and sugar wise. I do this the night before so I know how many spare calories etc I have to play with.

I also suffer from dry skin. I am not an expert for the kind of food you need, but I do know if you use too many oils and creams, your skin starts to rely on them, and ends up producing less natural oils itself, and the whole problem gets exarcerbated. Also, caffeine and alcohol dries skin out. x
We used to do the challenge. Most i managed was 17 slices of deep pan meat/deep pan veg. I don't want to know how many calories that amounts to.
That's my record too! We somehow had the idea that if we ate it faster than they replaced it, they would ask us to leave and so we wouldn't have to pay because…

Thank you for sharing. I completely agree different things work for different people. I have lost 3 stone by eating approximately 1100 calories a day, as recommended by my doctor. However, due to various medical reasons, I live a very sedentary lifestyle so this figure works for me. However, if I was in a position to go to…

Your metabolism slows, and so you feel cold more easily. Obviously, if you're outside and it is snowing, you would feel cold anyway. Therefore, compare yourself to others around you to see if you feel colder than them. E.g. If they're complaining it is really stuffy in an office, and you're not etc

Thank you x

Get on the scales very, very delicately so as to avoid the weights shuddering and giving a bigger reading!

I get paid to go shopping. E.g At McDonalds last week I got paid £12 and the cost of my meal to eat there, and fill out a questionnaire to say if it was good or not Gapbuster is the name of the comoany :) (You obviously don't have to do fast food) Alexe x

Oh, it is annoying there is no accurate way as I personally prefer stats to looking in the mirror. However, this is only because when I look in the mirror, I find it really hard to have an objective view about myself. I can see why just looking in the mirror works for many others, but I want to ensure I actually am…

YOU LOOK SCRUMMY! Well done on the good work. :) x

Following my earlier post, I really, really, really hate it when people stereotype. If you wanted to antagonize a lot of people, well done, you did it. Oh, and the reason you are now more aware of shootings etc is because the internet is a lot more widely used than it was even a generation ago. Gosh, I am jolly cross.…

I'm 25 with a mortgage, and worked full time whilst doing my university courses. I hate it when people are tarred with the same brush. There are plenty older people without common sense too - who do you think raised us? Also, whilst I do definitely agree with most of the original post at the start of this thread, I…

Yeah, anyone feel free to add me. I'm on a low amount too because I'm short, and not overweight (just a few lbs to lose). I've been a bit low for the past week because I've been ill and had no appetite, but normally try and stick to 1100 - 1200. I think this is ok for me as i'm 5ft 1, have very low activity levels and even…

Missy - 33? :P

Some mirrors are stretched (especially clothes shops), and that may be why you think you look smaller at home. Try a different mirror. x

I hate it because I can feel my *kitten* jiggling up and down. I'm shaped a bit like Kim Kardashian - I have a big *kitten*, and running gear is not flattering!

I now live in Bristol, but before that I lived primarily in the West Midlands, Cardiff, and Blackpool. (I've moved 17 times in total). Would love some more UK friends. :)

Thank you everyone! X

Brilliant! Thanks guys! It's always easier if you have someone your height to compare with, and to stay on track - it will stop me cheating!

850 calories - Wetherspoons beans on toast, with a side of hash browns and an apple juice. However, I do front load my day, but I guess still a lot for someone 5ft 1 and 7 3/4 stone. . . .

I tried using margerine instead of butter, but as it was so tasteless I actually ended up using way more so there was really no health saving! If you are just trying to cutback, just eat less like a slice. If you are dairy intolerant like me, use a butter like "pure" which has the lactose removed. If butter in any form is…

I am 5ft 1 and eat about 1300 calories. I'm supposed to eat less than that to lose weight, but it's just not possible to do that and get all my nutrients in a way that is still quick and convenient. I am losing weight though, and am now about 7 3/4 stone. x

I would like to lose about 12lbs (doesn't sound much but as I'm short, my RDA is small and so it'll take forever). Please feel free to add me. I have also given up drinking for new year as I believe it was this, combined with fry ups that made me go up 2 dress sizes in the first place! Anyone else feel free to add me too -…
