I hit a plateau and people suggested raising cals for a bit and the idea scared me which is when I thought hmm maybe this isn't the way to go for me

I have a blog chronicling my early days as vegan if any of you want any food ideas, ive been pretty naughty but there are some good ideas so far. www.CatMoongoesVegan.blogspot.com

definitely not right! id be surprised if that amount of uncooked rice was anything like that either

I wish it were that simple, I consider myself rational and composed but have had the 'bullying' and judgement for 10 years, its normally a look of disgust followed by accusation that theres something wrong with you followed by them reeling off the meat they enjoy and tellin you they could never give it up, im like calm…

you'll find that our intestines aren't designed for meat eating at all, theyre too long so they absorb way too much cholesterol and fat from the meat which is why heart blockages are far too common you really ought to watch the clip I posted at the top, in this day and age meat eating for nutritional reasons is not a good…

too many calories and fats id imagine, I don't know any overweight vegans though
-
animals do not exist to be eaten by us, that's a very arrogant concept. animals exist for the same reason we exist and no one on the planet has the answer for it. I personally am not missing any nutrients, but im sure some vegans are just as a lot of meat eaters are. we do not have teeth remotely resembling carnivorous…

Im reluctant to tell anyone to be honest, told my husband yesterday and he seemed disappointed in me! such odd reactions we get for trying to do something good!
-
hope everything works out for you and well done for giving up meat, hopefully karma will come into effect here
-
some really good responses thank you guys, I remember over the years if people found out I was vegetarian it was like they thought I was gonna steal their meat and got very defensive then insisted on listing every meat they enjoy. Also found that even though horrified theyd be a little comforted that I wasn't vegan, well…

I think that's great that you gave it up, I imagine there was a bit of teasing being a vegetarian amongst your football friends?
-
200 cals one day, 400 cals next, 600.. etc etc then repeat lol beyond ridiculous.. its stavation
-
Nearly the dumbest, heard someone recommend the 2,4,6,8 diet recently. How can someone not appreciate that carrying an extra 100lbs on you at all times makes ur body work a little harder?
-
as a 5ft 2 125lb girl I only burn between 200 and 300 per workout and that's either a 2 mile run or an hour aerial yoga
-
Vegetarian for 10 years (newly vegan) aiming for a 1300 cal a day diet but not really happening and 5ft2.5 :)
-
I moved 5000 miles away from my family to attend college on a study abroad program and while skyping my 7 year old niece she blurted out "mummy and nanny think you're getting fat by the way" ... half funny half devastating , apparently all theyd said is im gaining a bit of weight apparently to eachother but my niece read…
-
I think she meant 2000 per quarter, term or year not week lol
-
argh sounds like hell lol
-
haha thanks for that, never knew how little strength I had until started yoga
-
im newly vegan after 10 years vegetarian, are you ladies having any luck yet with weight loss?
-
ofcourse yeh I forgot about that, I was just thinking that at 125lbs I would need to run 6 miles a day to knock off that many calories
-
I think the OP is massively overestimating calories burnt! I suspect its half what was posted as 600 cals a day burnt off most days seems like torture
-
lol I also think unless they read the word chicken or beef they think im missing a food group
-
haha yeh, basically I just emigrated to the US from the UK and don't have permission to work yet so that kitchen is wayyyy too accessible, I imagine when im working il have less time to walk back n forth to the fridge
-
I ended up screwing up with my dinner and having an over 1000 cal meal so ended up on maintenance calories because we ate out, so plan to make up for it over next couple days
-
also the almonds were protein
-
seitan is high protein, quinoa is decent protein, the cereal was high protein, don't worry guys I got my protein, don't need meat for that
