So I have recently had several things come together in my life, healthwise, to concern me. About 2 months ago I started having intermittent neuropathy in my feet, coupled with the appearance of some bilateral lower leg swelling and what has been noted as a venous stasis ulcer on my right shin(indicative of poor blood…

1.5 TM mile warm-up before TRX class, then 3.2 miles of 80s Rock song intervals, run one song walk the next, in the midday heat. A good day overall. Thanks all for the input on the upcoming half-marathons I was considering. At this point I need to check my school schedule as well, but it is looking more and more like the…

Trying to decide between the Battleship Half on 11/3 and the Haunted Half on 10/26. I will likely only be able to get the time off for one of them. Thoughts?

While flipping through Strava this morning I noticed @garygse post his Marathon in memory of @MobyCarp and was blown away...I have been fairly busy at work these days and slack on logging on for this thread. @MobyCarp was truly an inspiration whom I, and many others, looked to as running mentor and for advice on injury…

2/3 of the way through my long slow run I was interrupted by a call from the jail, inmate having a seizure. Picked up pace but was at the bottom of this hill Continued at same pace up the hill and eventually over the top of the hill. Got picked up by one of our deputies about a mile out from the facility. Get back here and…

wb @garygse ! Back and biceps circuit today, then another heat acclimatization run 5k and change at 11:30/mile pace over lunch. @Lazy_Bones_85 It gets easier if you train for it...Have been back in the south for 11 years now and still have to do acclimatization runs when the weather heats up. Of course I try all the time…

Dad went through much the same until about 9 months ago. He was able to be medication managed, and had already had one cardioversion for Atrial fibrillation, with more medication to help it stick...until it didn't. His persistent arrhythmia was waking him up at night and he was symptomatic at rest. I was finally able to…

Race report from the Lake Hartwell Dam Run 10k: Arrive for bib and t-shirt pickup @ 0745. Goes well, as usual, because there is no day of race registration (they have to run limited background checks because you run along the top of an Army Corps of Engineers installation). The buses depart for the 5k starting line in…

Welcome @christinadyar ! No template necessary, post how you want as often as you want. Please be aware that this thread moves fairly quickly though and you may become addicted. 5/1/19 3.8 Miles of nice and easy yesterday, last run prior to 10K on Saturday. 5/2/19 Chest and triceps today. Congrats on the new job @Avidkeo !
-
@Avidkeo Congrats! In keeping with my upcoming month's goals, no run today. Upper body lift session (biceps, shoulders and back) for an hour. 56 miles in April puts me well short of my goal of 100 but, meh, life happens. See everyone in next month's thread!

In for a hundred or so as I work on finding my running mojo again. Will be working on more cross-training as well with lifting/TRX/yoga all in the mix.

So Hurray for cross training! I lifted legs on Friday, fairly heavy for not having done it in a while. Worked both jobs and was on the clock until 0100 Saturday morning, then back at 0700. So no run on Saturday. Sunday was a veg out day with meal prep for the week. This morning's run was just a short one as I had TRX class…

347 posts behind as I have been absent for a week. Finally got a chest xray, been having pain with deep breathing, hiccups, coughing and laughing. Was hoping the pain would lessen but has actually gotten worse. Looks like just soft tissue from the car accident so about 8 weeks or longer for it to subside. In the meantime I…

Sadly none of the cattle survived. But yes I am extremely grateful to be walking away from the accident.

Today is a bust for me running wise and maybe tomorrow too, breaking my streak. Not without good reason. Resulting from this Which is what happens when full size black cattle x 4 stand in the middle of the road in a light well at 0540 and you intercept the doing about 64mph. I am fine, some bumps and bruises. The vehicle…

Instead of an entry fee, the race organizers have requested this. Works for me!
