Falkirk, here :)

Mine's is open :)

My tip is to do a small cardio warm up, then strength, then more cardio if you want to. If you do cardio first, you use up more energy and therefore can't lift as heavy as you would be able to before heavy cardio :)

Better shoes, as everyone already said, but ALSO lacing my shoes differently made a huge different. There are lots of lacing guides on the internet :)

I do my official weigh ins once a week on a Wednesday, but I also weigh daily throughout December. I find it keeps me on track :) I understand fluctuations etc

Everyone has to start somewhere! Ever single person in that gym had to go there for the first time feeling unsure. But as the others have said, once you get there you will realise people are there to work out, not to judge those around. :)

I'm still going by pounds, but I'm checking my measurements reasonably regulary, and going by what I see in the mirror. My goal weight is probably on the high end for what is 'healthy' for my height, but I know by that point I'll be focussing on getting more toned rather than 'skinnier'. Also, I've tried to measure my body…

Any 'diet pills' or supplements I tried in the past were either basically herbal speed which made me jittery and unable to do my job, or showed absolutely no results. I personally think that the majority of them are placebos to fool you into thinking they are helping, even though your body is doing all the hard work on…

I lift :) I used Gladys Portugese's Hard Bodies book to get some ideas for my routine. :D And oldie but a goodie.
-
Wow, congratulations on all your hard work! It certainly paid off :)
-
God, I don't think a fortnight goes by without there being something to 'celebrate' that involves social drinking and eating! Just do what you did - exercise to cancel it out! It works for me :)
-
Firstly, well done you for proving that skeptical seamstress wrong! Secondly, don't worry too much! If you do start losing, it's easy to add a couple of pounds again, haha :) Enjoy your big day!
-
Congrats! I just reached my first goal weight too. Feels good, eh? :D
-
Surely the inches dropping is better than the pounds! I'm losing lots of inches and that makes me happy, even though my weight isn't dropping as quickly :)
-
I'm 5'4". My goal is 140lbs, but my UGW is 135lbs :)
-
Well done you!! :D

Eek, I forgot about this topic! I also got new scales, so my weigh-ins have been weird this month. I also hurt my knee and couldn't exercise as much as I wanted to. Sucks. :( February 2nd - 167.5lbs February 9th - 169.5lbs (new scales) February 16th - 169.8lbs February 23rd - 167.4lbs February 28th - New Scale Total Loss -…
-
I weigh pretty much daily because it keeps me on track, but I only log my weight on Wednesdays :)
-
I TOTALLY agree. I've been 'trying' to lose weight on and off for 5 years. But this is the first time I've actually stuck to it for longer than a month!
-
Thanks folks! I think I'm logging everything pretty accurately :)
-
1630.1 + 7.5 = 1637.6 :D
-
- Lose 5lbs before February 28th - Continue Zumba at least once a week - Do a mile in 11 minutes, possibly 10 - Do 10 miles on the treadmill in the month of February (minimum) - Be able to do chest presses(?) with at least 5kgs - Keep takeaways to a minimum
-
Yeaaah, let's do it! February 2nd - 167.5lbs February 9th - February 16th - February 23rd - February 28th -
-
Well done! First weigh-ins are always so exciting :)
