  • Hi - I noticed that you intake a lot of sugar, and some days your sodium is really high. Personally for me, a high sodium day results in water retention/bloating. And too much sugar will turn into fat. I'm going to make mine public as well. I've hit a wall too.
  • I call mine my "wine pudge". I eat a relatively clean diet, but not willing to give up my one vice - wine! I don't drink bottles at a time, a glass or two with friends occasionally during the week at most. I have been lifting weights for a good 6 months now and still have it. My trainer says high intensity cardio will do…

  • I opted to get the help of a personal trainer to motivate me - I realize not an option for everyone. She advised me to that I should lift to failure and do 4 sets with 8-15 reps per set, depending on weight. Some days I lift light for 15, other days I lift heavy for 8. I define "heavy" by struggling to get the last rep out…
  • Yes, I am using unsweetened. Thanks for pointing that out. I don't have much of a sweet tooth so I like it for that fact.
  • My job requires me to travel and eating out is the only option I have. I recently went to an indian restuarant. Prior to going I googled "how to eat healthy at an indian resturant". Was a huge help and I was able to pick options that were low(er) in fat and all around healthier. Good luck with not drinking wine. I…
  • That goes against everything else I read, but I am looking to build muscle and tone up. Someone below mentioned you will use stored energy but eventually that "stored" energy will run out if you do the math. Striving for a well rounded diet now, while you exercise will help you keep the extra pounds off. You won't be able…
  • I started with the Jamie Eason Fit for Life program. It was easy to follow and it helped me kick start my weight lifting. She also posts some really good recipes. However, after completing the program I noticed the lack of carbs in her diet, which are needed to build muscle strength. That being said, I still recommend her…

  • My latest breakfast idea is an oatmeal-egg white pancake with a little splenda brown sugar for sweetness. If I need meat I use turkey bacon. I have also just discovered Chia Seeds (a super food packed with protein, fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and minerals). I blend a banana (not necessary) with almond milk…
  • Gar, I would recommend you buy a pair that makes you feel as amazing as you look?!
  • What?!?! Not much of a success. Losing 4.5" is a great success!
