  • That just made me laugh out loud :D
  • Total newbie but signed up for my first sprint in September. BT username is randomsummer. I'd love to add a few people to my mfp group of friends for mutual support and sharing tips and tricks!
  • Feel free to add me too. Open diary, daily tracking, primal :)
  • I do 16oz of coffee with 3 tbls of grassfed butter, 1 heaping tabls of coconut oil, and a dash of cinnamon.
  • Fats are fairly easy - avocado, olives/olive oil, coconut in any form (milk, oil, butter, dried, shredded, raw), nuts and nut butters, ghee, grassfed butter,...basically what Cerebrus189 already said :) I have been eating too few calories apparently (1350) for the last 5 weeks and while I felt great, energized, etc. I…
  • I have the same issue. Somebody pointed out to me the other day that they eat more protein for breakfast than I do in an entire day. So I am going to try dairy, gluten, and soy free protein shakes for a while and see how that goes. Oh, and if you are not too worried about the mercury levels, go stock up on cans of tuna,…
  • This looks so delicious...I will try it tomorrow and report back :)
  • Well done!
  • Love-hate relationship is right. More love though...she cracks me up with her self-deprciating dry humour and no BS attitude. That, combined with lots of delicious (chocolate) recipes is a winning combo.
  • For me it's a tie between www.health-bent.com and www.paleomg.com - There are times when I live off of nothing but Julie's chocolate cake in a mug. We're talking breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. And snacks too...any other primal chocoholics out there?!
  • Maybe go try the coconut based ice cream recipe that howl_shadowknight posted? I also find that just blending frozen fruit into a sorbet (no additives needed) is AWESOME if you crave ice cream. There are lots of healthy options to satisfy those cravings :)
  • Welcome to the group Jan! I go with 50% fat, 30% protein, and 20% carbs. I find the higher my fat intake (usually avocados, coconut, grass-fed butter, and healhty oils) the easier it is for me to stay on track. And on some days, I even end up with fat ratio as high as 60-70%. You got to eat fat to loose fat. Interesting…
  • My Friday snacks and lunches at the office are usually a random rendition of everything I have left in the office fridge that needs to be used before the weekend. Today's menu: arugula, soft goat cheese, mixed seed and bean sprouts, guacamole, and two poached eggs. Who knew you can poach eggs in the microwave?! I didn't…
  • I agree with everyone that posted before me - track EVERYTHING.
  • Amen!
  • Thanks, great article - especially the chart that takes age into consideration is very helpful. Exactly what I was looking for.
  • This is a really interesting topic mainly because I am startled at how low people's, especially women's, body fat percentage (current and goals) seems to be. Mind you I am definitely not an expert in the subject matter, but everything I have ever read and learned about good body fat percentages in healthy, active women…
  • I never paid much attention to the difference until you guys mentioned you were primal, not paleo. Having looked into it just now, it seems I am primal too - I just called it the "paleo template", basicallly making my own adjustments to suit my body's needs. Thanks for opening my eyes to the difference!
  • I really like this guys blog http://chriskresser.com/ - his "beyond paleo" approach is awesome, there are great podcasts and tons of other useful info on his website.
  • I love that book!

  • What TS65 said. It's not about the weight. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat so if you work out that often and lift heavy, chances are that you're getting more toned, loosing inches but the weight stays the same or even goes up because you're increasing your muscle mass. Stick with it, toss out the scale, and buy…
  • Vancouver :)
  • For anyone who would like some scientific (NERD ALARM) background on what sugar and especially high fructose corn syrup will do to you, I highly recommend this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM It is rather long but well worth it, I promise. If it's too long for you, there are a couple of summarized…
  • Couldn't agree more.
  • I have one myself and yes, without the subscription you won't be able to see any data. That said though, I spent more on coffee in 2 days than I do on this subscription per month - and the data you get is absolutely incredible. I really like it and it has helped me to get a much better and much more accurate understanding…
  • I wish Canada would come around and finally allow Kerrygold butter to be imported into the country. Enjoy those 24oz packs of golden goodness you guys!
  • I know, right? I find her story so inspiring and while I feel blessed and lucky not to struggle with health issues even remotely close to what she - or your roommate - went through, I think it makes a lot of sense to fuel your body with all the goodies to try and prevent these illnesses. Like Dr. Wahl said, you never know…
  • That's great! Keep riding that wave. I think our bodys are well capable of telling us exactly what they need. We just need to (re-) learn how to listen and respond to it. So if your body wants carrots instead of doritos, awesome! And if that leads you to go shopping in the fresh produce section instead of the classic snack…
  • I have been working with olympic lifting for the last 2.5 years through crossfit. If you think I could add some insight, let me know :)
